Connecting University email to Thunderbird/Outlook?

<p>Mozilla Thunderbird is an email client that can be used on your desktop just like Microsoft outlook. </p>

<p>For those who do use Outlook, Thunderbird, etc. Has anyone been successful in linking you school email yet?</p>

<p>The school email is just a gmail account. Go to gmail and get the POP account information needed to link them. You’ll have to have a password for the email account itself (that is different than your myneu password). So for instance, if you were go to directly to google and try to sign into your neu email, you need a password for that that you can create while logged in via myneu. That password (not the myneu one) is what will be used in the linking.</p>

<p>How do I create the password to login to my NEU email through gmail? If I knew how to do that the rest I’ve done many times before.</p>

<p>Also, another question some NEU Techie might be able to answer. Are we required to have any specific Anti-Virus or are the free downloads there for people who need them?</p>

<p>Also, I think they want you to at least use the free Symantec but I don’t think anything’s required?</p>

<p>My issue has been resolved! Thanks to all to helped. </p>

<p>For those with the same issue. Just go into your gmail settings and change the password. Then use that password to set up Thunderbird, etc.</p>
