Consolidated book suggestions for AP

what do you guys recommend for ap micro/macro, ap chemistry, ap spanish, ap english literature?

It looks like the 5 steps to a 5 series and princeton review series are the best. However, I am going to be using different books as such:

AP Environmental(online)-5 steps to 5 as supplement, PR before exam
AP Physics B-Barron’s as supplement to class, PR before exam
AP Lit-Barron’s as supplement.
AP Calc-ACRO/Peterson’s-teacher is good, this seems like a great book to review concepts
AP Govt-5 steps to a 5 as complement to class
AP Macro/Micro(macro online)-5 steps to a 5, PR before exam

is this a good plan?

what do you guys recommend for ap micro/macro, ap chemistry, ap spanish, ap english literature?

and for the books for 5 steps to a 5, which version do i get? the 2010-2011 version or the 2012-2013 version?

based on my experiences. i took these APs this year:

calculus (5): barron’s
statistics (5): mcgraw hill
english language and composition (5): nothing needed, it’s just reading comprehension and writing
US History (5): AMSCO and REA crash course
macro/micro economics (both 5s): combination of princeton review and barron’s
psychology (5): barron’s for sure
human geography (4): princeton review ( i studied one night for this lol)

Since there is a new policy for AP scoring, are the 2010 and earlier versions considered less worthwhile than versions 2011 and later?

AimHigh, well, the MC scoring formula will be different for the practice tests in the books but in some cases, even the 2011 books didnt have the new formula. I don’t think the new versions will have different questions so if you don’t mind the wrong formula, I think they should be the same.

REA was great for AP Calculus, but not that helpful for Chemistry. I would definitely recommend PR for European History and Chemistry.

Acro/Peterson’s AP Calculus is also great as a supplement to class. Direct Hits is great for APUSH, combined with AMSCO.

Is 5 steps to a 5 good for AP Physics?

suggestions for Euro, Gov, and Physics B??

physics B is self study btw.

anddddd environmental, i was wondering if just PR was enough or if there are any other good books since its self study also.

5 steps to a 5 is also good for ap environmental, but apparently smartypants guide is great if you can get a copy.

Hi guys, I’m planning to take AP Bio next year. I looked at several reviews on amazon. Since I don’t have much money so I planned on buying 1 AP bio prep book.

I’m considering between Cliffs, 5 steps to a 5, Barrons and PR. Any recommendation which one is the best?

Thanxx so much.

i plan to self study everything
is this a good list of books to buy?

computer science - barrons
stats- barrons
macro+micro- 5 steps to a 5
Calc BC - PR

( we do calc at school but in german so its not completely selfstudy)

Do you guys think that these are a good set of books to buy

AP Spanish Language: REA
AP Psychology: Barron’s
AP US History: AMSCO
AP BC Calc: Princeton
AP Chem: Princeton

Also, what would you recommend for AP Environmental?

@BIRDLOVERS

AP Physics - Either Princeton Review or Barron’s

@BlackBunny103

Cliffs is awesome!

@minhtri1995

For macro and micro, I recommend PR, but the others are great.

@hershey21

I don’t know much about REA for AP Spanish Lang, but Barron’s definitely prepares for the exam. The rest are fine.

As for AP Environmental, I recommend getting Princeton Review and/or Smartypants Guide

AP Biology - CliffsAP AP Biology (3rd Edition) for studying; Barron’s AP Biology for diagrams/illustrations
AP Chemistry - The Princeton Review
AP Physics B - The Princeton Review (There are a few minor typos in the book though)

Oh thanxx so much guys for the useful info.

Has anyone tried 5 steps to a 5 for any AP subject? If yes, pls lemme know your personal opinion about it (I don’t really trust reviews on Amazon lol ). Thanxx guys

^5 steps to a 5 is a pretty decent series. I’m going to be using a couple of their books for next year’s APs.

BIRDLOVERS:

I haven’t taken the AP Environmental exam yet, but I have yet to hear one positive review of *5 Steps to a 5 for AP Environmental Science * on CC.

BlackBunny103:

I have used two - one for AP Euro and one for Chemistry I (honors).

The AP Euro review book was great. The practice tests were the best part - they really simulated the actual exam.

I used the AP Chem one for Chem I Honors, and it was immensely helpful.

I was a B/C student in Chem I until I started using the book. After I started using the book to supplement my teacher’s lectures and textbook notes, I aced my Chem I final - thank you 5 Steps to a 5!
