for Calculus AB, I would suggest Calculus Express by Ryan Mettling. It was more concise and to-the-point the others imo.

I’ll be taking AP English Literature and AP US Government & Politics.
What are your suggestions? So far I have in my amazon cart
Barron’s–AP Lit
5 Steps to a 5–AP Lit, AP Gov
Princeton Review–AP Lit, AP Gov
Crash Course–AP Lit, AP Gov
Should I add or remove anything? Your help is greatly appreciated. I have no idea how I will perform on either since both my teachers were pretty hard (might be a good thing for the exam, though).

Thank you for making this list!

Does anyone have suggestions for

World History and
U.S. Government and Politics?

This year I’m using:

AP Euro: 5 Steps to a 5, Princeton Review
AP Bio: Cliffs 4th Edition (out March 25th)

Is this sufficient?

I recommend Barron’s for AP Economics. There’s a few errors but I relied solely on this book and I’ve been doing pretty well. The FRQs though are kinda weird.

ap calc ab/bc- princeton review
ap psychology- princeton review
ap enviro- princeton review
ap physics- princeton review
ap bio- cliffs
ap chem- 5 steps to a 5
ap us history- rea/amsco
ap geo- barrons
ap econ- princeton review

i really liked princeton review, but there are other books that fit in better for other ap subjects

AP Econ - 5 steps to a 5
AP Physics C - Princeton Review
AP Calculus - Kaplan (left over from last year)

I like the Econ and Physics books a lot… the Physics one seems pretty difficult though. =P
The Calc book is pretty awful, but I got stuck with it after getting it for AB last year. Oh well.

AP Psych - Barrons
AP Euro - Crash Course , AP Achiever, Modern European History

The best thing you can do is study throughout the year, a cram book is not necessarily the best option

World History- Princeton Review for sure!

AP Comp Govt- Ethel Wood for sure

Also for Human Geography, would anyone recommend a textbook and review book for me to self-study from?

From my experience:

AP Human Geo - not Barron’s
AP World History - not Barron’s
AP EngLang - Barron’s (just practice)
AP Bio - Barron’s is okay, Cliffs is better
APUSH - PR isn’t bad, AMSCO is better
AP Music Theory - Barron’s
AP EnviroSci - PR
AP EngLit - Barron’s
AP Calc AB/BC - PR
AP Econ - 5 Steps to a 5
AP USGOPO - PR

Can anyone recommend a review book for the new AP Bio curriculum? Is Cliffs still sufficient? Thanks!

@elf4eva: the 2013 versions of Cliffs and Barron’s did not look like the actual test at all. I’m assuming they’ll release 2014 versions now that they know how the tests looks.
But Cliffs is good at preparing you for class tests

@RivingtonRebel If you don’t mind, how were they different? Easier/harder? More/less detailed? But okay, thanks. I imagine the new Cliffs/Barron’s books will be just as good.

@elf: They both just had questions that were modeled after the old test. They had this year’s format (63 MC, 6 Grid-in, 2 Long FRQ’s, 6 Short FRQ’s) but none of the MC and FRQ’s in the books looked like the MC/FRQ’s in the test. I don’t blame them for messing up, but those books are only good for reviewing the material, which isn’t really needed that much for MC lol

@Rivington Okay, gotcha. I think I’ll definitely still buy Cliffs (and maybe Barron’s). Hopefully the practice tests will be more accurate. Thank you so much! :)

In the meantime, anyone have suggestions/confirmation/correction for:
AP Chem (I have Barron’s but have heard that there’s a lot of extraneous info)
AP Calc BC (also have Barron’s, and also AMSCO, which is required by my school)
AP English Lang (???)
AP USH (AMSCO, …?)

Any more advice would be much appreciated :)

What do you recommend for AP Calculus AB?
