Consolidated book suggestions for AP

You’re welcome! :)

On that note, anyone have suggestions for Physics B/C and Euro?

Our Physics C mecahnics teacher recommends Princeton Review, which seems very good for it. I don’t know about B or E&M though (or Euro).

@elf4EVA thank you for the input!

Thanks, mathmomvt! :)

What are the best review books for AP Macro/Micro economics? thanks.

FireLion, CourseCrunchers study guides are the best thing I’ve found. Makes for pretty rigorous studying, but helped me to get 5s on both.

Suggestions for the the NEW AP Chem exam and APUSH?

Check out Learnerator, it looks like they currently have every subject except for APUSH this year. http://www.learnerator.com

I have clean copies of the updated APUSH kaplan, princeton review, and 5 steps study books. What would you suggest I use/keep of those?
Thanks :)

For anyone out there who is self studying some of the social studies AP Exams, CourseCrunchers are a great way to make sure your studying is on track and that you’re ready for the exam. I used one the week before the psychology exam last year and it focused my last minute preparation and studying. I also took both economics exams, though I also had the class. I used CourseCrunchers for the exams and felt that I was over prepared for each of them.

@mathmomvt My D has the NEW Baron’s for AP Chem and it appears to be updated and explains the differences and what the students will and will not be responsible for on the exam. For Calc AB/BC the book “Be Prepared” is excellent.

Thanks @saismom

What do you guys suggest for self-studying AP Psych and AP Stats?

How about reviewing for AP Chem and AP USH?

I’m Taking AP World, Micro, and English Lang and Comp.. Will PR be ok for World and Micro? I don’t think I’ll need a book for English. Thanks in advance!

I’ve used the Fast Track To A 5 books for AP Govt and APUSH and they’ve both been helpful!

Let’s start compiling a list of books. I’ll start. Please add your book under a subject (add that too) and in parenthesis, write how many people agree (add a number if your book is already there.

AP Statistics: Barron’s (1) <–If you agree, write 2 here. If you don’t agree, add your book name after, DO NOT ERASE previous books.

AP Language and Composition: CliffsAP (1)

AP Computer Science: 5 steps to a 5 (1)

Please add your subjects/book, and DON’T ERASE previous answers. Let’s see what books are the most popular.

If you have access to iBooks (iPad or Mac OS X Mavericks), I strongly recommend something interactive, like [OmniPrep[/URL]. They have three practice exams with explanations that link back to a page in their review book where you can find more information. Below are some interactive resources that are just way more engaging than regular review guides.

Any recommendations for the AP Lit test? Specifically to help prep for the multiple choice part of the test?

Barron’s AP Lit is pretty good.

Im already a junior in college, but for what its worth…

APUS – Barrons + the Crash Course. The former for in-depth knowledge of essays and the latter for the concise multiple choice review. Knowing how to answer the DBQ is key.

APWORLD – My teacher swore by Barrons and PR. I used them both but was generally uninterested in the material so i don’t think my opinions are relevant.

APMicro and Macro – Barrons and PR did great for me. Compared to the college level, AP econ is much more dumbed down so I am relatively confident any guide will do.

AP Comp – Ethel Woods is all there is.

APBio – Cliffs has the best comprehensive review. Crash Course definitely is missing key stuff, but I still found it very helpful just because its such a short book you can learn a lot in a little time. Use Cliffs to excel at your strong areas, and gloss over your weak areas in the crash course, this test is more about excelling at what you know than knowing everything I think. Personal Opinion I guess.

APHuman – The course was relatively new when I took it so there wasn’t really a good guidebook at the time. Used Barrons and PR.

AP Stats – again I think this course is straightforward enough that any guide will do. Used Barrons exclusively.

AP Gov – Crash course is golden. Barrons is a good standard buy.

I guess I have a lot of experience with Barrons and PR. they are definitely the biggest companies in the game, you can’t really go wrong with any of their products. A few crash courses and off-brands to sometimes make the much better product though.
