Consultant- Boarding Schools

We are looking for a consultant who can help us put together a list of boarding schools that might still be accepting applications for my son. We are not from the East Coast, so are only familiar with the most well-known schools. We are also open to waiting and applying this year for Fall 2025, but if we can find something that is a good fit that would work for Fall 2024, that would be better. He’s not a “problem kid” or any other red flag, we are going to be splitting our time east coast / west coast and he has been asking to go to boarding school so we want to look into it and try to make it happen. Thank you!

Reminder to posters that CC is not a referral service. Please only give the poster generic advice on how to find consultants in their area. Thank you.

When DS was at George School ( in PA), he had a classmate who came to the school “off cycle” because of a family relocation. You could reach out.

You will have more choice if you wait a year, but only you know if that’s a good plan for you. And any of these could still be a top choice.

A non-profit organization for school consultants - IECA - Independent Educational Consultants Association - you can find a list of resources on their website from consultants and other information. Personally, I would advise looking for a consultant that has extensive boarding school experience - ideally had worked on the admissions side and/or at a boarding school. Fees will vary - ask and shop around for right fit both budget and for your family.
