<p>I have tried to convince my mom that I could handle AP Calc AB as a junior in high school as well as two other APs by telling her all about what I’ve read online (about the differences between precalculus/regular calculus and AP Calc) but she won’t buy it. I’ve used arguments such as: the topics you learn in Calc A are Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Precalculus concepts that are considered necessary to understand Calculus B in which you learn concepts taught in your first year of college. I got this information off my school website so I’m pretty sure it’s accurate and since I got a 96% on my Algebra2/Trig Reagents (or NY State Test) I think the first semester of my junior year should not be too hectic with Calc A. If anyone can agree with my claim I’d really appreciate hearing you’re comments so I could formulate a more convincing argument. (If all you have to say is ‘Mom knows best’, I don’t want to hear it.
