COPA Parent of Two Students

Did they have callbacks at the auditions on Saturday? Just wondering if they changed the process from last year…

Good luck to all. I remember this tension from last year…

mrsannaleonowens no, no callbacks. However, some kids were asked to sing/audition twice.
The waiting is just awful. I think getting into med school is easier than this!

My S said there was some type of a callback procedure this Saturday. He sang for one group of people and then was sent upstairs to sing for what he said were the heads of the dept. When I asked one of the students working the table I asked if he had any idea what time my S would be done and he said “It depends on whether or not he’s called back”, I said “o there are call backs today” and he said “yep”

My D auditioned in November and also went downstairs to meet a second group of adjudicators. Still no word as of today.

So there were callbacks? When I went to the Nov. Audition there were to be no callbacks… So does this mean people who were called back are the only ones in consideration? I hate that they would say there are no callbacks but then have callbacks…

I think you can never “read” into auditions. Sometimes, they just need to see a little bit more. Sometimes, they’ve seen enough and can proceed with decision making. Hang in there…this waiting will eventually be over :)

D patience finally got the best of her and she called. We were told that her letter was sent on the 21st. We already got the mail for today and nothing so anticipate any day now. Would imagine that others might be in the same situation so should be receiving shortly. Good luck to all.

D got her letter yesterday. She is waitlisted…so all of you better make decisions soon. haha.

D received her letter of acceptance today for MT. No information on talent scholarship enclosed. Curious if that information will be coming out separately? Continued to good wishes for all those waiting.

S’s letter came today but we are in Cincinatti and S won’t let anyone else open it…so we shall see tomorrow.

D also received her letter of acceptance today. Yeah, very excited. Also no information on talent scholarship. Has anyone heard any thing else? I will probably try to call. Congrats to all.

CONGRATS! Nothing mentioned re: an award in my S acceptance letter either.

At least a couple/few years ago, the award letter followed the acceptance letter by a couple of weeks. The award letter will just include copa and/or academic awards. Then that will be amended to include other types of aid like loans, state and federal aid (if any), based on the fafsa when you get your official financial aid package from PPU.

Congratulations on the acceptances! Just to further toot PPU COPA’s horn, if you haven’t already done so, go to youtube and search point park pittsburgh playhouse to see what they’ve been up to. Oklahoma! is the latest mainstage musical.

I still haven’t received my letter and the mail just arrived. Should I call them? I’m already on edge having to wait way past the expected date…

Theatreguy123 - my D is in the same boat… nothing in the mail again today. I know it’s been snowy… but geesh, how long does it take the mail to get from PA to MI?

Kategrizz- exactly. I can’t handle this anymore! Ahh

No letter here today. [-O<

iammtmom I wanted to “like” because the emoticon made me laugh but I didn’t want you to think I liked because no letter came LOL

My D auditioned in December and still hasn’t received her letter yet either- nothing in the mail today. I called COPA and they said her letter was mailed out on 1/21

S auditioned in November and we just received artistic acceptance today in the mail. There was a generous Performing Arts Scholarship included (a happy surprise)!
