COPA Parent of Two Students

Congrats! tcork128! Fingers crossed the delay in everyone else hearing is they are adding awards to the letters!

Thanks MTMajorCook! Fingers and toes crossed that everyone gets great news tomorrow. The waiting is the toughest part!

No mail yet anyone? I’ve check this thread like 20 times today LOL

No mail today… again. At what point do I decide it’s been lost by the US Postal service?

I called yesterday and I was told that they were just mailing a batch of letters out.

I would call or email. You may want to ask for someone in COPA recruitment to ensure you aren’t speaking to one of the students who work in COPA admissions. Minimally, you could ask them resend the letter. I’m fairly certain they give no info over the phone, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. Good luck!

I called today. They apologized for some letters going out this week. They said that everyone that auditioned before Jan. 1 should hear soon. I of course assume the rejects are going out last and that is why we have not heard. UGH

Thanks for calling… we had no mail again today. :-(

Do not assume that it will be bad news. Students have received denials, wait list and acceptances in the first round of letters. There is no reason to think that this round of notifications will be any different. Fingers crossed you will get good news very soon!

My S got his letter today. Wait list.

Congratulations to all the new Point Park students! My son will be graduating in May, so the first part of my Point Park “Parent Experience” will be over. But, it has been a wonderful journey for him. We just learned that he got cast in CLO’s cabaret production of RING OF FIRE. He will be earning his equity card. Thank you, PPU faculty for the wonderful education that got him such a wonderful opportunity. AND, my daughter recently was hospitalized with Mono. The COPA faculty and staff has been wonderful about her absences and are working with her to help her catch up. I have nothing but good things to say about COPA at PPU. Choosing PPU was a wonderful decision.

mrsannaleonowens - I’m so sorry to hear about your D with mono - My oldest came down with it the first day of 2nd semester last year (her sophomore year in college) She had just been admitted to the Athletic Training Program - and made it to her Clinical ONCE before being down for several weeks as she got much worse before she got better - exacerbated by the fact that she has Type I Diabetes. So - I know how hard it is when your kid is away at school and sick- and I hope you are both surviving OK! I also know how good it is to have Program Faculty who understand and work with a kid who is so ill.

Now if only my youngest D’s mail would arrive. She finally emailed the department today - worried that her decision letter has been lost by the USPS.

mrsannaleonowens—Congratulations to your son! I have seen him onstage at the playhouse and he is a wonderfully talented. Well done! What a great way to end his COPA studies! Sending good thoughts to your daughter.

No letter for my D yet…

Our saga continues. I finally broke down and called today when it still hadn’t arrived. D’s letter was sent on JANUARY 20th! Clearly - the USPS has lost, mangled, rerouted, delayed, destroyed… They verified address (it is correct!) and are putting a new letter into the mail on MONDAY. So - you all can just visit me in the looney bin (otherwise known as Chicago Unfieds). So - iammtmom - give them a call… perhaps you need to have your D’s resent as well?

i’m so sorry…fingers crossed for next week and in Chicago

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you, kategrizz! Thank you for your kind wishes for my daughter. Though she is not “out of the woods” healthwise, yet, she is returning to class on Monday. She can’t bear the thought of missing any more classes. She has strict orders to slow down when she needs to. And, thank you, also CTown Mom. I said the exact thing to my son. Getting cast in that show was a perfect end to his college career. From a parent’s standpoint, I truly believe that he got an excellent education. I highly recommend PPU.

Funny tweet about COPA LOLOLOL

Downfalls of going to Point Park University… All the COPA people just start singing outta nowhere. I feel like I’m in Highschool Musical

Ok that made me laugh out loud too. :)

Wait listed - better than a no I suppose. For the record. my D is totally done with all her Auditions, waiting on artistic decisions is the hardest part!!! .
