COPA Parent of Two Students

In the past, students have been accepted off the waitlist, however the number changes with every year and is never very large. I do know they replace boys with boys and vice versa. If COPA is tops on your list, I would write to the conservatory stating that, along with any recent add ons to his/her resume. Waitlisted students will not hear until they see their final numbers. If you auditioned in the first round of notifications and were waitlisted, there is a slight chance you could come off of it after the audition season is over and they put together their final offers. If that is the case in your situation, I would really encourage your student to send an email.

Collegesearchdad, my son played guitar in the band. I am going to share what you said about “seasoned pros.” That will mean so much to him. He LOVED BBAJ.

I just saw that an Acting student was accepted at Point Park today. She received snail mail. Are MT kids and Acting kids sent letters from the same deciding group?

They usually work in unison…those auditioning early hear in Feb and then the rest in March/April. You would have to check last year’s Spring notifications for a more specific time. Perhaps there was some kind of snafu with this particular student…an early audition with a decision held for a reason we are not privy too. I did see somewhere where someone said they got an on the spot acceptance at the Unifieds, however, which one, I have no idea. And I do know with their new model for notifications (this is its second year), on the spot acceptances are extremely rare. Most students will receive their notifications around the time…if the snail mail works as it should.
