clinegirl - Just WOW. You really have a huge interest in Cornell, but it’s fine if you did not apply ED. Most students who are admitted 2/3’s are from RD, but its dominated by ED threads now since we’ve already applied. Your interest > mine by 10x… haven’t even thought of half of what you said.

want to know what my regular decision chances are…

i prob forgot some stuff but thats most of it.
let me know what you think

@ wisdom,

Hmm, COE has a much higher acceptance rate than CAS ~ about 10% higher, maybe because of the better students. If your interest is in CAS, don’t give that up just to get into COE, even if it is statistically easier. Cornell is much about fit, rather than about pure stats. I’m sure you made the correct choice.

Well, AEM backup schools. Generally NYU, BU, state schools. etc. Think positive, not backup. Hope my several internships throughout the year pushes for my acceptance… maybe.

Well, I initially thought I’d be a better fit for COE, 'cause I want to major in physics and hopefully go into chemical / environmental engineering dealing with biomass and bio-fuels, that sort of thing. But I also have a ginormous place in my heart for history, econ, anthro, that sort of thing, which is why when I applied ED, i made it CAS-primary and COE- alternate.

I figure, if I get in, I could always transfer between colleges if COE really is a better fit o_O

Does anyone know the latest they do alumni interviews?

Sounds good. If you have not yet received the contact, wait a week or so at most. After that, you most likely will not get one. Not getting one will not affect, and can’t help you application. I received mine for this Saturday!

Oh man! Good luck!

I haven’t been contacted yet =\ But I want one SO much!

Versii, where are you from?

I’m from New York - New York City. So guess I have a slight edge applying to a contract college huh?

I’m not that exicted about my interview, spoke to the guy a bit and he’s pretty cool. As long as I don’t slip… and say I <3 another college.

lol I’m from Florida? According to their student profile, a relatively small amount of students are from the South/ Southeast, i wonder if that helps any?

You should be psyched about your interview! All of my friends have been going to their Brown, and MIt, and Geogrgetown interviews, etc. and I haven’t had any yet… I’m so jealous, lol I feel like the interview will be a great opportunity to show them who you are.

I talked to admissions a while back, and they said that though not being interviewed couldn’t hurt you, doing well on an interview could only help, despite the little weight given to them.

I am so ready to be done with high school.

Don’t focus too much on the interview if you unforunately don’t get it. It has little impact on your application for sure since they cannot accomodate everyone. Might even help since they won’t have to read some generic letter.

The only school I know in Flordia is FSU. Hahas.

Being in Florida will help, just be prepared for snow @ Cornell EVERY OTHER DAY.

I’ve never seen snow… I’ve lived in Florida my entire life, and the closest to it I’ve seen… probably hail the size of golf balls o-o

Snow’s not that bad, is it?

Cold is cold… You’ll hate it at first in the Northeast, but you’ll adapt soon enough. Transfer outta Cornell b/c of snow? Lols… And yes, the snow/winter is terrible up here.

I’m going to avoid CC for a while, or until Cornell updates the application checker. Addiction is baddd… Talk to you in a bit.

lol do you have a fb?

I’m just going to be up all night studying for the million test I have tomorrow… T_T

My AEM backup school list has a life of its own. I have twelve schools besides Cornell and I can only get myself to eliminate one of them.

Boston C

C William and Mary

Cornell U

Georgetown U

Lehigh U

U Virginia

Villanova U

Wake Forest U

I’m from Delaware which is why UD is on there and my dad is faculty at Penn so that’s a required application as well.

Nice list arobins…and dad as faculty at Penn is a real nice hook too. Hope we’ll see each other in AEM.

Uggh, I hate this waiting game.

Does anyone know how much weight a rec. letter from a trustee with ties to the Johnson School I met with in Ithaca will carry?

What school and major are you applying to burns?

Does HumEc do alum interviews?
