Cornell 2014 ED-ers!

Prinstun, thanks for the organized list. You mightas well place the two alterantives into their primary school because chances are that they will not receive the benefit of the alternative.

7 AEM yay… Hope they need ~100 people this year.

The AEM class is always around 70 and the ED acceptances are 30-35 :3

Bio, how do you know? Do you know how many they accept for CAS ED? =D

Bio, do you know the same statistic for ILR?

Somebody specifically asked that question when I was on my cornell tour and I’ve heard it confirmed by multiple people.

I don’t know any other schools, though I wish I did - that information isn’t publicly available. To be honest, neither are the SAT scores per college (it takes 15-20 minutes of digging online to find it).

I’m pretty sure it’s almost the same for the other colleges as well. Cornell reported that about a third of their incoming freshman class enrolls through early decision. So for whatever college you’re applying to, take the freshman class, divide it into thirds, and now you have the number that enrolls through ED.

your logic is flawed o_O

They count their freshman class as the sum of all freshmen in the seven undergrad colleges. Though a third of this class come’s from ED, it’s not a third of the applicants that apply to each college, but a third overall, meaning that in some schools there’s a greater distribution of acceptances than in others; for instance, say a thousand kids apply to AEM, they’re still only going to accept the 70 or so ED, however, cumulatively, ED acceptances add up to around one third of the Freshman class.

My financial aid to do list still says I’m missing my CSS profile. Is this the case for anybody else and if not should i contact the fin aid office. Thanks

that’s true wisdom, but we can assume that they take around 1/3 from ED from every school, even though it is untrue. Apart from AAP and Hotel, on average they probably take 1/3 from each freshman class per school, since AAP and Hotel require interviews and they may take less depending on the quality of students,

FYI - College Admissions Office said they received around 3,000 applications, of course, they will take around 1000

Cute list. All NY’ers are essentailly AEM. All NJ’ers are Cas and COE

“we can assume that they take around 1/3 from ED from every school, even though it is untrue.” <— lol

You’re right though, Versii

Also, @ Tech, their admissions office received around 3,000 applicants for ED 2014? How do you know? o-o Did you call? Or am I blind and is it on their site somewhere…?

Hey wisdom, I’m confident that they received at least 4k apps for ED this year, since almost every ivy has had surges in ED applicants. No facts, just realized this from reading around.

Versii, what are you doing up at quarter to 3? O_O

@wisdom86: Sorry, I guess I sounded like I was being really specific. I’m just making the assumption that most of the schools probably have similar stats as the general university admissions stats–at least roughly anyway. I mean, with the exception of AAP/hotel, the percentage of students who enroll through ED can’t be far off the school average.

Bio, when I visited they told us that overall, about 140 are accepted to AEM and the class is usually around 100 following decisions. I don’t what that means for early decision, but I’m pretty sure the class size is larger than 70.

Added myself under CAS…
Is it bad if your alumni interview was like 5 minutes long? Damn…
