@MOHighschooler My midterm was sent in after yours; however, I made sure to stay in good contact with Ian Schachner during the whole process and that’s why I believe I was given a call Monday.
@HIMYM17 You said you stayed in good contact with Ian. Did this ever involve him contacting you with questions about your app? I ask because he called me Sunday, telling me that my application looked good on a whole, but that he anticipated my specific interest in ILR coming into question at the admissions meeting. I gave what I think was a fairly good and sufficient answer. Do you think this is a good or bad sign, and also, do you think staying in contact (i.e. me sending a follow-up email thanking him for his call) assisted in your admittance?
Anyone know if we can email the signed IDOC document or does it have to be mailed in?

hi @jburke6 , i know your message wasn’t to me but I was just accepted into ILR so hopefully I can be of a little help. I also kept in touch with Ian throughout the process (nothing too extensive, he just made some suggestions about what classes I should take this semester in order to be in good shape with credits) and I do believe that the contact definitely helped. Not only did it display more of an interest in the school, but it also really put me in a good position to transfer. It seems like Ian really, genuinely cares about the students in ILR. He’s an awesome person to talk to and he is incredibly helpful and patient. I suspect the reason he makes the calls for acceptances is because he genuinely likes hearing the positive reactions.

I’ve been following this thread for a while and just wanted to add in my input. I was recently accepted into the ILR School (got a call directly from Ian on Tuesday). Junior transfer – I know how stressful it can be to wait for the decision to come out so please ask any questions and I’ll try to answer them as best I can. Cheers!
