Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

@chicharito14 mine says “No current to do item information found”

@chicharito14 I was able to view my decision yesterday. They didn’t send me a notification though.
I’m getting $0 from cornell…hehe

@plsbenicepls Mine says I need to submit an extra document which I submitted weeks ago but the status never changes, ive tried emailing them a couple of times but they never reply. I dont know whether they are incredibly busy or just ignoring us?

@MULIOKELA111 nah, I wouldnt think so. I think they just havent released the financial aid results yet

i know this is totally off topic, but in my supplemental, I mentioned The New York Times, but i only italicized and capitalized ‘New York Times’ and forgot about the ‘The’.

…I used to write for the school paper, will Cornell notice this??? it may seem trivial to ask, but man, i hope they dont think im some uneducated swine…

@chicharito14 i emailed them in the week before new year and they said they would release the results in that week.

guys i have gotten no aid from cornell, there is no way we can afford the fees,. what should i do???

@michaelog did you use the net price calculator prior to applying?

@michaelog are you an international applicant?

i am an international applicant…
and i estimated my parents contribution to be about 3000 USD

@MULIOKELA111 Can you afford Cornell with 0 aid?

@michaelog No I can’t…income’s about $9000 a year and according to them, I dont qualify for any financial aid …haha. We could try some outside scholarships.

These top schools are unbelievably stingy with money. I feel for you @MULIOKELA111 , please try and call the FA office and explain your situation. I’m praying for you!

@MULIOKELA111 I honestly think they have made a huge mistake. My friend (also an international applicant who got in) has also gotten the same thing. If we don’t qualify for aid I dunno who does.

go check it out again, the aid award is in.
Got mine, Kinda steep(not too steep) cause of a tiny error I made on my CSS, should I appeal

God bless Cornell! …@michaelog go get that aid…@davidwaloo thanks for the prayer, it was answered pretty fast.

@MULIOKELA111 AYYYE can’t wait to meet yall at Cornell

@michaelog Financial Aid is limited for International Students and not guaranteed http://finaid.cornell.edu/sites/finaid.cornell.edu/files/International-FinAid-FAQs.pdf

@michaelog Yes you should appeal, I put one figure twice when it should have been on there once, and when I got my preliminary package on Dec 10th, it was way off from what we expected, because they thought we had $40k we didn’t actually have due to my error…

@michaelog Just email or call the financial aid office, they’re pretty receptive to your circumstances usually. International students have it a little worse, but best of luck
