appID and Pass come in an email right? ;p
@applicantcor Yes, about a day after submitting the app (at least that’s how it happened for me).
Am I the only person on this thread who has his sh*t together?
pretty much LOL
Im so much of a mess I’m on the verge of crying and laughing my a** off every two seconds. I’m highly unstable rn LOL
Remember, the admissions officers are real people. They aren’t crazy English teachers. They aren’t at Cornell now and they won’t be there tomorrow (they don’t work on the weekends, more info I found on my Cornell website profile). As long as your app and writing supplement are in, with the recs and transcript, you should be fine. Worry about the fin aid tomorrow. Same goes with ACT. Again, they have not gotten my scores and they aren’t going to penalize me for it because I emailed them and they stated that they are fine with applicant’s scores arriving late and they even expect it. Moreover, they just want everything in around Nov 1st, not necessarily on or before. And finally, you will have a second chance to submit stuff mid November, as stated on my ApplicantID profile on the Cornell website. It’s Halloween, be a little chill!!!
@seniorlife I am applying ED for Policy Analysis and Management at HumEc from India. What is your major?
@c0rnell yay more human ec
What is Human Ecology anyway?
TooCoolForGoogle
It’s the college for people with very specific interest in a certain subject lol in a nutshell. It’s a very small college and it focuses on the relationships we have with everything like human development or humans impact on everything kind of. It’s hard to explain but when i visited they did a job at explaining it lol. I would say between human ec and hotel it’s more fit based than the others
Does anyone else’s Financial Aid To Do List just say “No current to do item information found.” before and after I submitted the CSS Profile?
@awakentrance Yes. I think it’ll be like that until they actually start receiving our CSS profiles from the college board, either that or they haven’t looked at them yet. It’s not even Nov 1st people!!! Plus tomorrow’s a Sunday and the admissions officers don’t work then. They’re normal people with normal lives who get weekends off like many others. They aren’t out to get you, at least I don’t think so!
Does applying for financial aid increase your chances in ED?
@Geocach No, fin aid doesn’t help or hurt your chances; Cornell is need blind. The only monetary-related benefit that can help your chances is having your super rich parents offer to donate a huge amount of cash to the school if you’re “well considered” by the office of admissions.
And yes, this happens, I am not kidding. I had an admissions officer come to my school from a local college during a summer workshop concerning the college admissions process. To give us an idea of how his psychology works when he’s reviewing applicants, he gave us a profile of three (fake) kids and told us to pick one to be admitted to the school (the other two would be rejected or waitlisted). One of them was a bratty girl who had a criminal record, but her father was super rich and had sent the school a letter saying he would donate a huge pile of dough to the school if she was “well considered”. In the end, the admissions counselor told us he would have admitted or at least waitlisted her, even though the other candidates were much better in every possible way.
At this point, just gotta cross my fingers, i think i showed how great a fit i was for my major
Good luck to everyone seeya back here in a month and a half.
Holy crap that’s a long ways away.
I’m not surprised at all. The game is pretty rigged in a way. 2 years ago, a girl with a 3.5 weighted GPA (probably 3.0 UW) and a 25 ACT got into Stanford from my school. How? Her dad knew someone on the admissions board.
Life isn’t fair.
Uh, guys. I have a question…
The application isn’t due until 11:59 PM ON November 1st, right?
Because my twitter is being filled with “just turned in my common app” and I’m starting to worry…
@c0rnell I’m applying for the Human Development major at HumEc
Anyone here applying for Communications major?
