Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

Anyone doing CSS: Also, how do you submit more than 3 files? (I have everything completed already, submission is just being weird)

@Homsar Would you mind telling me what you submitted in each upload. Like upload1 was the 1040 form, etc

@Homsar Actually i took off Friday to complete my app so i am spending today working on 2 projects, studying for BC quarterly, APES quarterly and a crap ton of HW…still feeling kinda screwed lol

Hey guys, current Junior here, so I’m a bit early to this scene  . I just wanted to ask - does it help if you have a sibling at the college at the moment? I just came back from Cornell A&S and Engineering info. sessions, and I was thinking about that. My sister is currently at A&S as a freshman, doing Bio and Chem on a pre-med track

Can somebody just help me already? I’m desperate ugh

@OMGDEVICE do you need to fill out the noncustodial parent waiver petition? (Only needed if parents are no longer together)

@Homsar CAS for Astronomy/Astrophysics!!! Did you have research experience that you put on your app?

@OMGDEVICE Submit three, then go back to the page and submit another three, under the same info (name, email, etc).

@roboticsnerd33 I’m not sure, I think that might help you, perhaps that would be a kinda legacy sorta deal…?

@ArthurDent42 @Homsar I am uploading the 2014 tax returns but I dont know what to upload…my parents filled jointly. I don’t see if I am missing something, but WHAT DO I UPLOAD. W2 FORMS AND WHAT ELSE.

@OMGDEVICE I don’t know exactly, it should say. My parents did that and all the other fin aid stuff, so I’m not the best person to ask…

@ArthurDent42 could you ask them or something, what are schedules A, B, and stuff, omfg it sucks being a first generations student, i literally dont know how to do anything.

@OMGDEVICE Calm Down! As long as you turn in whatever you can by tonight- you’re fine!! If Cornell sees that they are missing something from you they will notify you (The admissions office told me this because I was worried about the same thing) Just make sure to turn in whatever you asap

@c0rnell Okay, thank you. Right now, the only things I have is my parents Tax Return 1040 Form, and a single W2 form. Should I just scan all 30+ pages of the 1040 form?

@OMGDEVICE Just turn in the one page that has like 12 or 17 or those two pages- dont waste your time scanning all 30 pages. If there is something else cornell wants from the 1040 they will definitely notify you

12 or 17 what? I’m sorry for being annoying.

@ArthurDent42 To answer your question about how people get these craazy internships and such - I think that it mostly has to do with connections and the constant pestering of professors tbh. But yeah I agree… sometimes it is super shocking how people get these awesome internships lol

@roboticsnerd33 My brother is a junior at Cornell, other than giving me good info for my supplement-there is no advantage of having a sibling at the school
@OMGDEVICE my mom went to staples and faxed ALL of her tax returns papers although they already have our tax information from my brother . However, Cornell is pretty lenient on sending all this stuff in, just make sure you have some stuff submitted by tonight.

@roboticsnerd33 The local college I’ve mentioned previously in this thread emailed me a few weeks ago, telling me that if I wanted to do an internship during this coming summer, I would be given a higher priority since everything kinda didn’t work last time, as long as I began coordinating with them starting January and not April.

That leads to something I thought I’d ask, even though it has nothing to do with this thread, and I’m asking anyone who has an opinion on this issue: should I quit my current job come next June assuming A.) I land a paid internship at the local college previously mentioned and B.) end up going to Cornell?

I just submitted my testing results. Will they get it in time for early decision?

Wait I haven’t done any financial aid apps. Those are due tonight? I don’t even know what it is
