Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

@crossovercuber omg thanks for the reassurance, I was actually really worried!

Guys calm down. The admissions officers are normal human beings, not superhumans. Give em time. And for God’s sake don’t call them or email them just because you haven’t been told about your application status yet. From the website (FAQ), “We ask for your patience as we process applications. Calling our office within 3 weeks of the time you mailed the documents would most likely not be helpful.”

I’m not reviewing my application until I get my decision. I get way too much anxiety from just looking at it.

Anyone else gonna play Star Wars Battlefront to relieve stress and pass the time until decisions are released?

i’m going to actually get sleep for once lol @ArthurDent42

My job makes that impossible, unfortunately, with or without college apps…

I just applied for a job thinking i have more free time. tbh i just need money

What kinda job is it? I work at a kennel, r8 6 out of 8 m8, kinda gr8.

Cashier at a convenience store LOL. I’m just here 4 the money & the discounts

Cornell received all my app stuff except my SAT scores (regular and SAT IIs). I sent Oct scores for free before they came out and it says “sent” on the Collegeboard SAT website but no college including Cornell has received them yet. I’m not worried yet…

PS Everyone on this thread seems really smart and impressive and nice, and I’m sure you guys will get in, so don’t stress too much! (I know I won’t get in lol)

@NICE8x same but for the act we haven’t gotten scores yet, another week or two. no point in worrying bc they won’t look at ur app until tits complete

hey does cornell ed look at first quarter senior year grades?

Your Mid Year Report won’t be sent until the fall semester is over around Dec. 23, which is way past the notification date. So Cornell ED definitely does not review any of your senior year grades. But they still might affect your chance of getting in Cornell even if after they already admit you, Cornell might withdraw its decision if there’s drastic decline of scores.

@TiggyB62 Thanks

@geocach North of half a mil

@ArthurDent42 Battlefront and Cornell decisions are all im looking forward to

I’ve gone through many of the CC threads of the past regarding Cornell ED and it seems that everyone sends their quarter grades. If you don’t send them, it seems that Cornell often calls the GCs to ask them to send them.

Submitted on the deadline xD
So how long does it take to get the email AppID? already getting nervous!

@WilltheBastard you are incorrect. Cornell does in fact want to see your first quarter grades from senior year. Please do not give false info if you are not 100% sure.

Last year when my D was applying for class of 2019, Cornell ED admissions held a live twitter event and they specifically said that they will want to look at your 1st Q grades.

So have your GC send them. If they are not sent, then an adcom from Cornell will most likely phone your GC and ask for them.

@TiggyB62 Send them asap or wait for them to call?

@davidwaloo Yay I’m not the only one who can’t wait for Battlefront…two weeks from today!!!

BTW, my appID profile updated, they have everything they need except the SAT scores!!! Wooohooo!!!
