@Gatortristan have your GC send them now. Our HS school uses Naviance, so I believe our GC just sent them electronically.
Cornell got my October sat 2’s YAY
I think I’m gonna let my guidance counselor handle that…I monitored her progress on The Common App concerning whether or not she had submitted all the reports and whatnot, and she seemed to wait to submit everything until the last minute (the 28th I believe), which was after our 1st Quarter Grades/Report Cards were released, so I’m fairly certain she submitted the 1st Quarter Grades with everything else. If not, I’ll just wait and have Cornell call…would be pretty cool if they saw my 101 in AP Physics C!!
Anyone who has received app id and stuff: does cornell require 1st quarter grades?
Also, if we do have to submit 1st quarter grades, how do they ask for it? We got an email saying
"Dear Seniors,
This is the time of year in which colleges and universities may request first marking period grades from their applicants. Should you receive a request from a college or university for your first marking period grades, please inform your school counselor in writing and he/she will be able to send your current grade averages as of Monday, November 2. Thank you."
My current AP Physics 2 grade is a 69%, thats going up to at least a “B” whenever my teacher puts in the most recent test, but I don’t particularly want a D+ on my record. Is there any way of delaying the submission of first quarter grades by even a couple of days or do they want them right away?
@Homsar pretty sure you would have to talk to your GC about that because i think the admissions officers won’t be asking us directly for them but emailing our GCs instead
hey guys, just had the panic of my life: i didn’t send in my supplement so none of my app was sent-in. i’m waiting for my applicationID now, how long did you guys wait to receive the email with it attached? more than 4hours or less?
I still haven’t received my appID and I submitted on the 31st (30th over there).
Apparently, they’re super busy with the amount of applications they receive so it could take a couple of days.
Though, I’m tempted to call them and just ask…
Hi! I’m an international girl. I’m applying for engineering this year.
@Homsar Our quarter at my school has not even ended yet. Once the quarter closes I will ask my GC to send my quarter grades because I feel they will be beneficial to my application. You have until mid-november to submit any missing parts of your application besides the essays, so I would definitely wait to send your quarter grades. Just tell your GC when your quarter closes (or your grade goes up) to send the Q1 grades. If you don’t send them, then in mid-november someone from Cornell will probably call your GC to send them. (Read on a thread once that a girl was not asked to send quarter grades and got in but apparently it’s rare).
If I submitted both my common app + writing supplement on October 31st, is it bad that I don’t have my appID yet, or will I get it soon?
I’m pretty sure it’ll come soon.
@Homsar I’m in the same boat as you-- I had just switched into a class and the teacher had nothing in the grade book at the time of quarter grades so it looks like I had an F in the class…however now that she has entered everything I have an A. Maybe we can send updated grades??
Hey guys
Applied on 31st, didnt receive a single mail from Cornell yet. Just got the commonapp ones.
Should I be worried?
Also is it just an impression in my school or have you guys, as international students in other places, been told that Cornell is tough for aid as compared to other unis on the same level?
@crnllfffff @blerghnn @blargenshmargen @FZM777 From the website (FAQ), “We ask for your patience as we process applications. Calling our office within 3 weeks of the time you mailed the documents would most likely not be helpful.” Please calm down. It was your responsibility to send in your supplement and common app (sending everything else late, however, is fine) before Nov 1st, and no one, neither on CC nor at Cornell, can help you if you “forgot”. In all honesty if you “forgot” you probably shouldn’t be granted acceptance or be applying ED in the first place.
You have applied in which school? Don’t worry, have patient. They will take some days to send mail to you/update your information. People are correct in their assessment. IVYs are tough but Cornell is tougher! Out of all, Engineering School is toughest- it is simply a Blast Furnace.
