Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

thought we were friends 'till that personal and hastily made attack, not cool bro
ANYWAYS who’s applyin to CALS?

I just got my AppID and I submitted it on thursday. Just be patient.

@crnllfffff did you say that you did not submit CA and Cornell supplement by November 1?

My bad. Sorry I didn’t double-checked those information with my guidance counsellor. She couldn’t even remember it herself.

@TiggyB62 yup, my common app was sent a week before nov 1, and i sent my supp a day late because i didn’t realize it didn’t send with it. it will deff be a disadvantage, but i’m owning up to it:)

Have your SAT scores gone too? @lolog123
Mine are still stuck at College Board.

Why do they have such a 19th century system ?

I got my appID just now. the only thing they’ve received is my common app even though I’ve submitted everything but scores. They said it could take 2-3 weeks to get everything so they’ll let us all know mid-november

@Gatortristan Same thing for me when I first got my appID, which was the 29th or 30th. Coincidentally, today, my appID profile updated and it now indicates that they got everything except my test scores, which, as you know, were sent right before Nov 1st due to the delays and whatnot, so their absence is expected…

So I think for you they should indicate that they have all of your stuff by the end of this week, assuming they work at the same pace that they worked at for me.

I expect they’ll have my test scores by the end of this week as well, assuming the scores get a move on through the mail…

@ArthurDent42 Sounds good to me. I haven’t sent any scores yet because i’m waiting for october ACT to be released in like 2 weeks.

@artherdent42 Lol why would you put me in the list of of forgetting things? I didn’t forget anything - yesterday I was just worried that I didn’t get my appID, but now I just got it.

@arulster I went to my GC today, she said that if the updated grades are in quickly (a week or so), she can ask her supervisor to send updated grades. I would imagine your school having a similar policy.
“Let’s say your gradebook only has one assignment, a pass/fail for homework. Not doing said homework assignment when you actually understand the material shows an F, it’s not an accurate representation of your academic abilities and we only want what’s best for you, including fairness. Just my thoughts” - a paraphrasing of my GC

@blargenshmargen I wasn’t referring to everyone in that list when I said that forgetting to submit part of the CA is one’s own fault, just a specific individual…

oh lol soz mb

@FZM777 Yeah my SATs have gone through. I sent them in september though.

@Gatortristan and to those of yall who just got their cornell IDs- did Cornell say they received your supplement essay or did they just get the common app

@c0rnell For me it said all they had was my CA when I first got my appID, which was the 29th or 30th. Coincidentally, today, my appID profile updated and it now indicates that they got everything except my test scores…

So I think for you they should indicate that they have all of your stuff by the end of this week, assuming they work at the same pace that they worked at for me.

I expect they’ll have my test scores by the end of this week as well, assuming the scores get a move on through the mail…

Moreover, “We ask for your patience as we process applications. Calling our office within 3 weeks of the time you mailed the documents would most likely not be helpful.” - From the appID profile FAQs

@ArthurDent42 Thanks a lot!!

@c0rnell my app said they have everything except my GC rec letter

Hmm…I always wondered when Cornell admissions officers will start reading our applications…

@seniorlife555 Same, although I think it’s after they get everything, they don’t read it as they get it, only after they have it all, still that leaves some room for uncertainty as to when exactly read them…
