Cornell Class of 2028 Official Thread

? What is that

Everyone is way too caught up in analyzing financial aid which I understand because you want an answer. FA is not tied to admissions meaning they are separate offices that are doing their own thing right now. FA doesn’t know who is being admitted, so their job is to make sure they have all documents for every applicant just in case they have to create a package. Once a student is admitted, then the FA package will be put together. I have 2 kids who were admitted to Cornell (2018 and 2023) and we had to wait days after the acceptance to find out FA which is another horrible waiting period. I wish there was an easy way to know the future, but analyzing the data on the FA page unfortunately is not one of them.

possible likely letters tomorrow since ivy day is the 28th this year?

What do you mean by specific? She doesn’t have any insider knowledge about the process.

No. She said those are totally different offices and not even in the same area of campus. Apparently the systems do not even ā€œspeakā€ to each other, which is why there is a different portal for financial aid. She said the admissions office isn’t even allowed to answer questions about financial aid because they know so little.

No, I did not mean insider information. If what you said about decisons not being finalized true for architecture too.

okay so to summarize:

  1. processing
most people have this(probably not a good sign)
  2. processing to ā€œno current to do item info foundā€
probably a good sign as very few people have this(Pandaz1)
  3. blank todo table, clicking on todo leads to invalid parameter error
few have this, herambh and jamajama

I will say I don’t think it makes sense to extrapolate for the non to do results and maybe the empty table. Logic is that Cornell would want to finish up FA for ILR likelies, but only if they can (lot of people get FA a couple days later). Hence not having ā€œno to doā€ isn’t nessecarily bad. Also for the empty table im not sure on that side because other reports of it come from late css like me and herambh is the only one I’ve seen with on time css and empty table.

We have both #1 and #3

I also have #3

how do you have both

mine just says ā€œno financial aid information foundā€ i didnt apply for aid but idk what this means

We have both of these:

I don’t think any of this will apply to you if you didn’t file for fin aid. The default for people who didn’t apply is no info found

yes that is normal(you have case 1). for people with case 3, we don’t even see the go button or anything.

I’ve # 3. Sent CSS mid Feb.

Where you defered? We have a similar situation, they asked me for docs which I uploaded except one.

and then when I select go, I get the same second screen as you. DD was defered

No deferral. RD app. They did send a personal email requesting a doc signed by parents awhile back. So they definitely looked over all of our fin aid docs.

Ok so for #3 looks like out of those reporter, one on Jan, one in mid feb, me in early march. Assuming eagle is domestic all the #3 were domestic and applied for FA (idk if you’re domestic S). Seems predominantly #1 then #3 then incredibly few #2. I’m guessing #2 is a likely admit and turned their FA in within time because Cornell probably has only planned out the likelies FA stuff now.
