Cornell Class of 2029 Official Thread

I am a domestic who said no to financial aid on the CA but submitted fafsa and css anyways. i have the parameter message

Can I ask where there is a GO button? I do not see this. When I login to FA, it just shows TO DO LIST with TO DO under it in grid as a link and then I get the Parameters error. Im on a Mac…I dont know if the screens could just be different? I never know there was a FA portal to check before today on Cornell so I never looked to see if anything was ever processing…I did do a lot of EA elsewhere, so my CSS and FAFSA would have been submitted already way back in NOV and DEC already and all extra pages for any school were already up in IDOC back in November.

This is case 2, I have this too. There is no go button for us

I don’t know if this will help or just confuse folks, but here goes:

DD applied ED for Class of 28. Domestic and applied for FA. Was deferred. The financial aid to-do list showed “processing.” On Ivy Day, she was waitlisted. Then in June, she was offered a transfer option. She has submitted her “application” and expects to hear an answer in about 3 weeks.

Up until TODAY, the financial aid list showed exactly the same screen from a year ago: “2/15/2024 Processing.” As of today, there are new items with the word “Initiated.” We will upload the documents tonight.

Here you can see what’s it’s looked like for over a year. And then you can see the changes just added today “3/15/2025 Initiated.”

This is probably a completely separate case as it is apart of the transfer option. I believe the transfer option is a near guarantee of acceptance as well

Correct. The admission for a transfer option is pretty much expected. I just wanted others to see what it looked like a year ago before the transfer option was offered and she was in the boat everyone here is in.

Carry on, astrologers!

Ok same. Seems like

  1. Parameter = mixed fin aid/submitted FAFSA but did not click yes to finaid (could be any admit deny wl)
  2. No to do items = Applied for aid, aid got looked at (could be any admit deny wl)
  3. Processing = they are still making ur aid packet (could be any admit deny wl)

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ADMISSIONS STATUS.

I didnt apply for aid and I have no to do items.

Strange as I have the parameter error and applied for aid, submitted FAFSA, and checked yes to finaid on CommonApp

Alright so this is my case: can anyone guess what my result will be? According to IDOC, Cornell has requested documents. I have been waitlisted from WashU and CMU.

Nothing is definitive at this time. Processing yields mixed results

I just realized it doesn’t say FAFSA even though I submitted FAFSA, what does that mean?

I believe it only has CSS and IDOC documents, not 100% sure though

I also got WL Washu and CMU, and UChicago, but I got into UCLA and Berkeley with regents and scholarships also USC/Gtown. So I don’t think one acceptance correlates another. But it def means that our apps were good, and we don’t have a red flag (otherwise we would have been rejected)

Hopefully lol…got some big decisions coming up but no good acceptances :frowning:

Astrologers,

  • Domestic applicant (technically U.S. citizen living abroad, but not considered international)
  • Applied for financial aid & marked that on my comm app
  • Applied RD in Dec, received IDOC request in Dec, responded in Dec, after which my To Do List showed Processing for quite some time with a “Go” button
  • After processing, had the blank To Do List with no “Go” button and parameter error
  • Now, I have, “No current to do item information found.”
  • Assuming this just means they’ve completed their processing of my FA package
  • Hoping for the best :crossed_fingers::glowing_star:

Here’s a piece of information that will throw a lot of this astrology out the window:

For at least the last two years, there have been long delays in processing of financial aid for many admitted students. This was true for ED and RD admits. Some had to wait weeks after acceptances to get their financial aid packages. So the timing of financial aid is in no way indicative of anything.

I know that you are all having “fun” speculating on all of this, so just disregard if you don’t want to spoil your fun.

Good luck to everyone on Thursday!

You are absolutely correct. Many have been reading posts from previous threads and making conclusions based on very limited datapoints. Only a handful of people actually declared their admissions results in those threads.

This has led to a narrow viewpoint that presents one outcome as an acceptance while others as mixed results, when in reality there is little to no correlation

Just today we have seen many scenarios coming from people with all sorts of different conditions. This is honestly just a big headache lol

My friend and I share this exact same situation. Only difference is that we recieved idoc request late february and early march

I believe in the case where your list changed from processing → parameter error → no to do info found, your aid package is complete and will be presented upon acceptance (if accepted)

The scenarios we have been seeing (processing, error, etc) are intermediatory steps in their completion of the aid package. Someone who still sees processing could be accepted and just receive their package later than someone who sees no list upon acceptance
