I’m interested in applying ED for Cornell, but what are my chances and does anyone have any advice for which college/major I should apply to? How do I make myself seem like the best fit for them and what can I do to increase my chances of getting in or any essay-writing tips?

Does anyone know the ED notification date? I am hoping friday the 13th, but worried it can be as late as the 20th based on the late exam schedule this year?

Looks like the past two years they released on a Thursday at 7pm? Not sure if it will be the 12th or 19th this year.

Cornell admission office sent email to ED applications today to reinstate ED binding guideline saying you can change from ED to RD by Nov 26. Do all ED applicants receive this email? is this new practice for 2025? thanks.

There is a separate thread discussing the emails: Cornell e-mail reminding applicant that ED is binding

I have a feeling it will be 12/19 because exam week is late. 2020 had a late exam week and ED came out on 12/17.

I am really really hoping this will not be the case

Has anyone been asked to submit 1st quarter or trimester grades?

No! I haven’t heard of that. Most colleges ask for mid-year grades. Have you?

No, but wasn’t sure if people send on their own if they only send if the school requests them.

My kids school sends them out automatically (they are on trimester). They got sent Monday.

same- ours sends trimester grade report to every school each kid has submitted an application to. not clear if any of the EA/ED schools even look at them but they get them.

Thank you - mine are not finalized until 12/6 which is very close to the release dates for my ED and EA December schools.

I just called admissions and asked them about the ED release date. They told me an email would be sent Monday next week (12/09) to all ED applicants announcing the formal date… Fingers crossed its released sooner rather than later. Good Luck!
