Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@enviscimath11

Thank you so much!
Cornell never emailed me any of this information! I was sitting here in the dark all this time. Thanks to you, I was able to get access on my own using the “I haven’t received AppID” option.
Why didn’t Cornell tell me about this separate portal and email me these credentials though? All this time I though it fin.aid. checklist would pop up along with the application checklist. So much time wasted!

Turns out there is a whole bunch of outstanding documents!
For example, they want a proof of citizenship, and it’s past due (4/3/2019). Am I screwed?

And they want either to have it shown in-person or have me paper-mail them a notarized affidavit of citizenship; I can’t just email them a copy of my American passport. This is so bizarre: All other schools were fine with a scan of my passport emailed to them.

Another thing: my W2. They tell me to submit them via IDOC, but I’ve already done it! What the hell, Cornell :frowning:

And a whole bunch of other thing that they should have from IDOC but don’t: some due 3/15, some 4/3. I’m crushed :frowning:

Just contacted them, the want me to re-send all missing documents even though the common app says everything is submitted… how is it possible that everything I sent is just not there? The registrars office at my current school takes like 2 weeks to even get back to me and one of the professors who wrote my recommendation moved to a different university. I seriously don’t know what to do

@OwlOfAthena same here! the application fee is the only thing with a red x next to it for me, and I used the common app fee waiver AND filled out that NACAC waiver or whatever the acronym was. I wonder if they just haven’t processed everyone’s fee waivers yet, or if there is an actual issue.

Out of all the schools I applied to, Cornell’s document processing is the sloppiest (by far).

So I just spoke with the admissions office about my missing waiver and they instructed me to E-Mail a copy of the NACAC and SAR to the E-Mail address listed on the checklist (the one where they say to send official transcripts). Include your name, birthdate, and application reference number and they should get to it. My waiver was checked off within two hours. Hope this helps some of you guys!

That email is misspelled by the way. underDradapp@cornell.edu (should be underGradapp@cornell.edu)

Thanks everyone this information is helping me so much!

using my time wisely <<< constantly checking this thread

Sent in my midterm report earlier today and it now says received. They said my College Report wasn’t sent despite my counselor emailing me to confirm it was sent on 3/6/19. I called and they said I could just email it, a little frustrating considering I didn’t think this would even be an issue. Hopefully, it’s received soon.

Hey guys, so I can’t find the financial aid list to save my life. I have an appID and have logged on and changed my username and password. I can log in but can’t find any links to financial aid. If anyone has any advise, let me know!

Also, unrelated to Cornell, but I received an email that Stanford is process my application! YAY!!

I can’t believe it’s on a rolling basis. That’s so awesome! I wish more schools did this.

@IndirectProofs

What exactly is on a rolling basis?

It means they just evaluate applications as they come in. At least that’s how I have interpreted it.

Does anyone else who has been able to access the financial aid checklist have a bunch of documents listed as “initiated?” Does this mean Cornell has them?

@IndirectProofs

Yeah, but the available spots do diminish, as they award them. At least, that’s how I understand it.

@OwlOfAthena yeah, that makes sense. I hope they get my college report soon! :slight_smile:

@OwlOfAthena Np.

Yeah whenever Cornell sends something to their applicants, it mostly ends up in their spam box and most don’t check that.

For any of your concerns, you should direct that to the financial aid office through call or email. I hope it goes well for you!

Does anyone’s checklist show if SAT/ACT is received? I sent my SAT to Cornell but didn’t see a line for that on my checklist.

@enviscimath11

Thank you so much! You are a life-saver. <3
I hope so too! Very stressed atm.

@qwertyu123

There’s probably no line because SAT is optional for transfers.
