Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@transferrrrrrcc

"Cornell is the only school for me where replies to admissions have been quick and helpful to me. Other schools take a week to respond and seem to only read half of my email. "

Which email address did you send your messages to?
They haven’t been as fast for me.

Hello, I checked my checklist right now and I got it.

It says that I’m missing my “Academic Evaluation” and “Application Fee.” My evaluations were a part of my Common App and I clicked the waiver on Common App.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

@OwlOfAthena transfer@cornell.edu

Checklist is up, It says I’m missing my HS transcript and midterm report, both of which I sent a long time ago. I’ll contact them in a day or two to make sure, we have until the 15th to get everything squared away. As a side note, on my Boston University checklist my high school transcript also showed up as not received. I contacted them about that, and they said they have it and it’s in my file, even though it is still marked as not received on my checklist, so the checklist is not always reliable.

That happened to me with Carnegie Mellon. They said it was because for freshmen applicants supplemental forms are sent in separately and not with the Common App, unlike for us. If anyone is missing something I would just call Cornell and ask.

Where do I go to check my checklist?

Is anyone familiar with the “pin trick?” It’s something that was mentioned in last year’s thread a lot and I was wondering if it holds any relevance to this year’s application cycle.

@enviscimath11 yeah but where i can’t find mine

@summit3 I searched it and it seems to me that the pin trick just pushes up notification dates that are already in the system. I don’t believe it forces a review. SO I think that will only be helpful if you know they have had your application under review for a while and think they have a decision already in the system.

What’s this pin trick you are talking about?

@sstayingpositive when you login at your application status account, it’s at the bottom

Hey guys, I emailed CALS admissions this morning asking when decisions would start rolling out, and this is what they responded:

"Thank you for reaching out to us today! Decisions will start being released on Wednesday, April 24th, and will be released on a rolling basis, once per week, until all decisions have been made. You will receive an email the day before that contains a PIN, alerting you to check your inbox the following day for your decision.

CALS Admissions Team"

Just wanted to let you guys know so you won’t be expecting decisions on Tuesday based on previous years.

@bujolover25 That’s good to know! It seems like a lot of transfer application decisions are coming out much later this year. I wonder why?

do you think all of the college’s follow the same release schedule?

I just found out that my application is still incomplete because of a missing mid-term report. It IS required, even if you are not in school (you have to state that on the form). So, just a heads up - if you are missing something, make sure you follow up!!

@transferrrrrrcc I’m pretty sure it’s not the same across the country

@hawambe I’m having a similar experience - counselor sent the college report, but they don’t have it. I was just curious, what email did they tell you to send it to? Thanks!

@transferrrrrrcc

If you mean Cornell’s constituent colleges, then I think it’s different, but you can check with them.

If you mean other colleges, in general, then it’s definitely different: Williams College, for example, has already released their transfer decisions a week ago.

@src9889 the email is just got said to send the missing documents to undergradapp@cornell.edu. I hope that helps.
