Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@fuzzycupcake17 no it is not a bad sign, if its initiated it just means the financial aid office hasn’t gotten to it yet. Also i think should resubmit your form if it is missing.

hey guys im a TO for SHA… my transfer transcript still says initiated is that bad?

Anyone know the acceptance rate for the engineering school?
I applied as a CS major.

I wonder what the chances are for getting into the CS program as a non-GT, regular transfer. I highly doubt I will get in but one can hope lol.

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like most of the people who are responding to the thread are GT.

@enviscimath11 CALS!

@fuzzycupcake17 I see the same thing with the Federal W-2 being due in 2020…not sure what it means. I’m a CALS TO and my finaid to do list still says initiated.

I think TOs who are getting “ordered” messages must have completed submitting everything earlier - I submitted my midterm report March 29th so they must be still getting around to it. Guess we should just keep a lookout on the financial aid to do list.

When I looked through the results threads form last year, it seems like the majority of accepted students were GT. Their transfer rate is higher form what I saw, for sure. But that doesn’t mean the rest of us are out!

@bujolover25 that’s true when i got my checklist everything was complete which was a relief

FROM FROM FROM! LOL. I mistype form so often.

Just to be safe, I emailed the financial aid office to ask them about it - I definitely submitted my parents’ W-2 forms.

for everyone that is getting their fin aid from initiated to ordered what school are you guys applying to?

I just checked and (FINALLY) everything shows complete, including my financial aid paperwork!

I applied to CAS.

if you did not apply for financial aid i’m guessing there is no checklist?

Could someone please explain what GT is?

Guaranteed Transfer

GT means Guaranteed Transfer, now known as Transfer Option. An applicant gets that option when they apply as a senior in high school but do not get into Cornell the first time. Cornell basically creates an agreement with promising high school applicants that if they maintain a certain GPA and take certain courses during their freshman year of college, they would be a guaranteed transfer when they apply again.

Students should review the To Do List throughout the academic year to make sure there are no outstanding obligations. A status of “Initiated” or “Ordered” means that the item is currently incomplete. If you have recently submitted materials, it may take a few business days for the item status to change. When an item has been completed, it will drop off the To Do List.

This is from their website

@M_51222 where in their website does it say that? I doubt the status “ordered” means that an item is incomplete. If you read the specific description of the transfer transcript, it says action isn’t required from the student. It may be the case for other items
