Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@brianlau7 I have not either and I am a Dyson TO applicant. I believe they (SHA and Dyson applications) are read by the same people so I am sure we are fine!

@onebfi nice to see another dyson TO! but good look to all of us!

on a side note, i can’t believe decisions are coming out so late this year, the wait is killing mee

How many GT’s are accepted per year total? I’m wondering out of the 892 acceptances, around how many are guaranteed transfers?

Hey, would someone mind pointing me to the FA checklist? I really can’t find anything aside from the regular checklist, but I called and they said everything was okay. However, based on a comment earlier it seems like it’d be a useful tool for acceptance prediction.

@nyctransfer123 Use this link! https://finaid.cornell.edu/check-application-status

@kingslayer68 wow thank you so much! they’re both labeled “Initiated.” That’s good, right?
To be clear, one is labeled “Transfer Transcript” which I know I sent two months ago and the other is “ISIR SSERV,” which may be something I have to look into.

this sounds really bad, but i feel like i don’t have an applicantID? the only email i got was one where they gave me my engage admissions page (where i see the application checklist). should i contact cornell admissions?

y’all going to drive yourselves crazy looking at the “tricks” people have come up for admissions decisions. From what i read from past threads none are full-proof. Have faith in the work you’ve put in.

@fruityninja Yes, do so ASAP if you’re sure you haven’t received one.

Didn’t mean that as an attack on anyone, just trying to help as I know most of us are anxious, excited, etc. Seems like the best way to deal with it is to be at peace with whatever effort you put into your essays etc and not speculate with tricks/circumventing.

@nyctransfer123 will do! thing is, i didn’t apply for fa, so i’m not sure if that’s the reason why i didn’t get an applicant ID. even so i think it’s p important, so i’ll contact them tomorrow

Actually the tricks are fool proof. If you go to the “see your decision” page the night before or morning of release date it’ll say “your decision is expected to be released on xyz. If you look at the finaid page, and it says that your transcript has been ordered (changed from initiated) you’re in. If it still says initiated and you have the date for your decision, you will be rejected. I’m not going into how to find this info bc u can literally scroll thru the past pages but that’s how it works. When cornell accepts you, they’ll order/ask you to submit ur final official transcript at the end of this semester. It’s how it worked last year and the year before

Best of luck.

if you have to wait until “the night before or morning of release date” why don’t you just wait until the release date, it’s just a few hours? no need to sweat so much. also we don’t even know a release date so it’s kind of pointless anyways?

Meant to say that the check status page will show when you’ll get your decision. If your finaid checklist goes from showing initiated to ordered w your transcript, it’ll mean you are getting accepted. Sometimes your entire checklist will disappear after showing that too (which means ur decision is coming)

@parkcentral what about people who are no longer in school? I finished in Fall and am not taking classes in Winter or Summer semesters. So my submitted transcripts are the final transcripts. Would mine go form initiated to ordered as well?

*FROM dang it. LOL

In that case I don’t know. Regardless they would need your final official transcript to perform all the paperwork necessary for your matriculation if you choose to attend. I’d keep an eye on the finaid disappearing in the days prior to your decision.

Guys, my Checklist has been saying “No current to do item information found.” ever since I received my ApplicantID way back! Is this bad? I’m still missing my high school transcript… if that helps

@parkcentral So if our financial aid transcript changes from “initiated” to “ordered” within the next few days, that doesn’t mean anything right? It only means something when we get the decisions page like a week b4 decisions come out?

but i still don’t get how we know when we’ll get our decision? when does our decision date show up in the check status like you mentioned?
