Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@Punisher1 Columbia released their decisions today? I don’t have anything on the portal and nobody on the columbia thread said they got theirs…

It is a different program GS.

@IndirectProofs Are you 100% sure it’s GS? I think he got the regular one honestly

I was curious so I clicked on his/her replies. Sorry didn’t mean to snoop. I was curious only because I almost applied.

Dyson seems to push it out the furthest (for non-TO), all the way to early June, judging by the past five years. They have several distinct concentrations under AEM, it’s a sorting process.

Hi! I’m new here and had an odd-ish interaction with Cornell. I applied for a fee waiver and asked someone at my current university to send an attesting statement and thought that was that. But last wednesday, I got an email from cornell asking me to pay the app fee by the 3rd or they’ll withdraw my application. What confuses me about this is why they didn’t ask me to do this a month ago. I got the email AFTER the first wave of decisions came out. Non-TO btw. Does this indicate anything?

@romcomtom They started doing second reads of non-TO’s only after the first wave of TO ppl

@romcomtom that’s weird, my situation was kinda the opposite. I hadn’t paid the application fee and they paid it behind my back without me knowing about 3 weeks ago, I never got an email about the application withdraw thing. its good though that your application is good now! Best of luck!

I’ve submitted my financial aid credentials that was specific for Cornell a few days ago, do you guys think it will have any effect on my decision…NON-TO for CALS here. However, I complemented virtually my whole application late February.

I don’t think your admissions decision will be impacted, but if you are accepted you won’t know your financial aid decision for a while. So you’ll just have to wait longer to accept or decline the offer

Are us non-TO’s in a good position for the third wave?

I completed my application 3 days after the deadline so that’s not too bad. I still have not heard back and I’m a non TO

@IndirectProofs Same with me, with the non-TO part.

Just thought I’d share some information on my daughters application status, in case it’s helpful to others following this thread. She’s a TO, and still hasn’t received a decision. Really hoping for next week, as having all of her plans in limbo is stressing her (and me) out. Her mid-term report was turned in on 3/29 (late due to her current college’s late schedule), so that might be why she hasn’t heard yet.

I wonder if the fact that they gave out 500 Transfer Options last year but only 100 this year says something about how many spots are left for transfers. Granted not every person given TO takes their TO, but still.

I also submitted mine on 3/29 and haven’t heard back. (I am a TO) @Firstofmany

@bhdot27 where are you getting the info about the fact that they accepted 100 TO’s this year? Not every TO is even accepted yet btw
