Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@rish68 yeah I applied as a freshman too last year and every time I try the trick I end up at a different page soooo idk lol. But don’t sweat it, I think you’re in the clear… also I literally submitted all my stuff 1 hr before the deadline, I think I’m the bigger procrastinator

Bet, I’m a little worried. I submitted my mid term report for this semester on the 25th. Wasn’t really paying attention I guess!

@rish68 The pin trick should work for you on Monday! Best of luck to you ?

I’m still on initiated as non-TO CAS should I just expect rejection at this point lol

@Kalistyne I’m the same and I’m wondering the same thing.

@IndirectProofs @Kalistyne same here

If Im a non-TO engineering applicant still on initiated does that mean anything in particular?

To anyone who’s still on initiated, don’t give up hope! Just be patient, there will still be about a month’s worth of decisions to be released. No point in stressing over it, you’ll find out your decision soon enough

I will say, that several people from previous threads have been accepted even though their financial aid says initiated.

Has anyone asked for an early read? My deadline for another school is in about 2.5 weeks and I wanted to see if there is anyway to know before putting down my deposit

Got my TO acceptance to IRL on April 30th. I disqualified myself from automatic TO because I dropped micro econ my first semester. Guess it didn’t matter to them in the end. Not sure if I’ll accept the spot (I really like where I am right now).

@Novelica I’m also still on initiated, applying to college of engineering as a non-TO. So far it seems good that we haven’t heard yet, as it has been almost completely rejections for non-TOs so far. I think we have a chance of receiving decisions on Tuesday, but if not I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. Good luck!

I know this may sound stupid as I haven’t kept up with Cornell’s transfer process, but can anyone explain to me what TO stands for and how to know whether I am on initiated or not?

Does anyone know if Cornell CAS will hold it against you if you were admitted once and chose to attend somewhere else?

Is the “ordered” financial aid trick only if you have all of your financial aid materials turned in? I still haven’t turned in a lot, and it all says initiated.

@datbulmir TO stands for transfer options, which is given to high schooler who applied Cornell and didn’t get in first time. So, they get a higher chance to be admitted by Cornell when applying as transfer students. As for the initial thing, I’m not sure how it work. Someone in this thread can help you.

@datbulmir log into your financial aid checklist (check your emails from cornell and you should have gotten an applicant ID and a link to check your financial aid status), if your transfer transcript item says “ordered,” it means you are accepted. If it’s initiated it doesn’t mean much

What if you didn’t apply for financial aid??

@ranger1 I think in that case the trick might not work? From what I’ve seen thus far

And he applied regular last year and got waitlisted. So I guess no way for him to check then. Oh well…just have to wait.
