@betaclimber I’m like crying so hard right now so your message does help.
Didn’t get anything
@IndirectProofs It’s ok, I’m disappointed too. The fact that we’ve survived this many waves at Cornell is something to be very proud of. We’re competing with the best students in the world, and you can count yourself among them. Cornell is just a school at the end of the day. You don’t need them to be successful, you’ll be great because of who you are. At the end of the day, the only one here that loses is Cornell.
@IndirectProofs I haven’t received a decision yet, but I’ve told myself so many times in my head it will be a rejection I have “come to terms with it.” The way I did it is just convince myself of all the reasons I don’t need to get in, and how much harder and more focused I will work when I don’t. Mind tricks lol
@aqaqseattle Did they give you any reason if you fulfilled all your reqs? Did you contact the AO for an explanation?? I would!
@IndirectProofs That was me with Northwestern
I’m sorry. I hope you find another school that is best suited for you!
Accepted, CALS TO
@IndirectProofs - my son was at the very top of the waitlist for one of the service academies a few years ago and didn’t get accepted. He was crushed… but went to another school and there is NO DOUBT it was the right school for him and, in looking back, the academy would have not been the right place for him. You have done amazing things - don’t give up math, obviously you are highly talented. There are many, many good schools out there and you have a bright future ahead of you. My daughter is waiting for her response from Cornell and my guess is that she didn’t get in (I’m trying not to call her lol). She’s been accepted to RPI which is one of the schools at the top of her list and I think she will do well there:)
@Thorsmom Thank you so much for your kind words. I think you are right. It’s great to hear about your kids!
the pin trick worked for me, I’m a non-to cas and I did not get a decision today. I did apply last year as a freshman too though if that helps anyone.
I’m still on a waitlist at one of my top schools so who knows.
@aqaqseattle I agree. They should give explanation if they rejected you even when you were TO. But then, it’s TO and not GT. So technically they don’t have to give any explanation.
Cornell is a pretty big school and I would like to go to a small school so maybe I will end up at a better school suited for me.
rejected cals non-to
Wow, talk about an unnecessary comment. @CollegeTPAL Who are you that you think you can determine her attitude/motives? Leave people alone and maybe focus on yourself
Rejected Non TO CALS super bummed but that’s okay I will survive! Genuinely excited for everyone that got in to this great school!
Rejected Cals Non-TO transcript was on initiated. 1500 Sat 3.9 college gpa at top 30 school
Lot of the ‘non-traditional’ students I see here have unrealistic expectations and underestimate the competition here. They don’t have a history of challenging academics haven’t taken any SAT/ACT or hiding them and do not have any EC’s except for a hard luck story-Which may or may not be true. If you are admissions counselor you’re going to be doubtful of this person’s ability to compete in a challenging environment.
Another thing to factor in is that with a school that does TO options, it is much harder to get in because there is less room.
keep working man, good luck. @Miniman1673 did you get your decision email right at 10? It’s 6:37 where I’m from and I lowkey wanna go back to bed if nothing is coming… lol
