Cornell question

What does it take to get in, what things must a student do like internships, volunteering, etc? My son is a student at Saint Peter’s university and has a 3.6GPA and did the following: Volunteered at Bayonne hospital, st. Mary’s hospital, Christ hospital, Medical center, Newark Beth Israel, Monmouth Medical Center. He volunteered for a congressman, shadow our family’s endocrinologist, red cross, Liberty Science center, Stem cell research at his school and an internship in Washington d.c. in the congressional offices and in involved in a few school clubs/organizations. He seeks to transfer to Cornell because he is unhappy at his current school and i only ask because i want him to be happy. I also want to know what other schools should my son apply to with all the things he has done?
