Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

@az103 I got accepted via diversity letter but I haven’t gotten anything in the mail and there have been no changes to my portal. The checklist is even still there

I tried the “forget my pin & password” thing and could log in. I’d like to mention that ALL of us MUST be able to log in on this website to view decisions, even the rejected ones.

D received a letter several days ago saying she will be accepted when decisions are released (on Ivy Day). The letter noted that they couldn’t send the official acceptance before then.

Feels like almost half of the CC community is getting likely letters - all super qualified candidates here

If none of the ivies work out, I guess it’s BU then.

@kingslayer68 If BU is your best option you’re in a pretty good position

No acceptance letter and no portal update for me.

I don’t understand what is a diversity letter?

@human354 It is an early notification of acceptance for highly competitive applicants that are a part of underrepresented minority groups. Unlike likely letters, these letters confirm your acceptance and are sent to a very few select group of students to try to sway them to choose that particular university. They were sent on March 15 to women and people of racial, religious, and cultural minorities.

Did Cornell send out an email with a portal update?

@Kd6410 hey i’m actually in a somewhat similar position as you. I got waitlisted at UVA after already being deferred and my mom is a UVA grad (meaning that I’m considered part of the in state pool). If I was simply OOS, I bet they would’ve flat out rejected me. I also got waitlisted at WashU but received a likely letter from Cornell. And I know it sounds dumb coming from someone that got a likely letter but don’t get so hard on yourself! These schools are missing out by not accepting you. It’s entirely possible that Cornell or some other great school sees the potential that you have.

@Kd6410 yeah, just scroll through these threads and you’ll see tons of students getting rejected from state and public schools but being accepted in Ivies. Different schools just need different students. Keep your head up

I haven’t gotten one @pwraskin99

Not expecting to get in. If I got waitlisted at Barnard, there’s no chance of me getting into Cornell. I was really hoping for an acceptance.

@winky1 Where did you see the message about March 28th? My son said he logged into the self-service site/Check your Status but does not see that message. Thanks for the info.

See post #929 , @2018hsmom . I followed that link, etc.and eventually got the message I posted.

@Winky1 Thanks. Shared the link and he was able to get in too.

I was accepted for the diversity hosting. Do you know when the registration deadline is?

@KoolKollegeKidz I’m pretty sure it was the 23 of March…

And I know the deadline to confirm your travel arrangements is March 30
