Hey! Just wanted to create this thread so everyone who’s applying for transfer to Cornell for Fall 2025 has a common space to ask questions. I know I’d like to talk to people in the same boat as me right now, so thought this would be a good option to receive updates on decisions too! Good luck to everyone applying
My kid received a transfer option for the Nolan School last summer. She just submitted her application last week.
What school are you applying to as a transfer?
My daughter also received a TO offer last spring for Human Ecology, she will submit her application this week, but she’s on the quarter system and they won’t get her winter grades until the end of March, so I don’t think we’ll hear until April. I’m not sure if she’ll want to actually transfer or not because she really likes her current school, but we wanted her to keep her options open…
i’m applying to cals as an animal science major! I didn’t get the transfer option though so hopefully this works out!
Good luck to you! Hopefully acceptances start rolling out sometime the week of April 14.
Me too!!
that’s so cool, good luck!! what school are you attending now?
Hi all! I’m a TO applicant to CHE. Good luck to everyone!!
Hello! I finished applying to Cornell Uni as a transfer student. I applied for SHA. I am not under the transfer option, but I am hopeful! If college decisions do come out on the 14th of April, that would be a huge relief! I am already getting nervous lol. Lovely to meet everyone! I wish the best for all of us <3
Does anyone know how housing works for transfer students? I assume it would be last pick after all current students have chosen housing for the next semester.
From what I understand, that is not the case. Most transfers get housing in one of the living communities at West Campus.
I see, thanks!
The Program Houses are not located on West Campus. Transfers can live in Program Houses, which are on North Campus. They can also be placed on West Campus or South Campus. And yes, they get placed after current students.
We will be placed with upperclassmen and we will be paired with other transfers whenever possible. Looking at all the campuses, which one would you like to be placed in? I think it’s a fun way to be positive. What happens, happens, and it doesn’t hurt to have a little fun.
I didn’t use the term “program houses.” West Campus is filled with “community” houses.
From the website:
West Campus House System
The West Campus House System offers upperlevel students an actively engaged community of their own – one that fosters personal discovery and growth, and nurtures scholarship, creativity, and responsible stewardship.
Sorry, my mistake. “Living community” is often used for the Program Houses. Yes, some transfers end up on West Campus. This year, I think many were placed in Cascadilla and Schuyler House on South Campus.
Thank you for the info!
I love the hiking trips Keeton House offers, but the no air conditioning is kind of scary…Honestly, I’d be pretty happy to be in any one of these dorms. What about you?
For me, I am stuck between two houses. A comfortable fit for my introverted, independent working style is Becker House. They have the social bit if you want. Totally my vibe! However, I do know that I do want to make an effort to put myself out there. So, there is Alice Cook House. It’s still my vibe, but it has more social spice. I would also be happy with wherever I am guided, but here are my top two options.
Ooh, I heard that Becker is one of the nicest on west campus.
