Delta made the announcement on twitter and it covers both international and domestic flights:
Excellent. I have a kid with two delta tickets both booked a while ago…to a hot spot.
Basically, a non-US flag ship cannot do a purely domestic US itinerary. For example, Hawaii cruises on ships other than the US-flag Pride of America take a side trip to some other country, often Kiribati if they are otherwise cruising around Hawaii, or Mexico if they are going between Hawaii and the US west coast (as the Grand Princess originally planned to do). Alaska cruises always stop in Canada for this same reason.
Similar laws apply to airlines in that a non-US airline cannot schedule passengers to board in the US and get off in the US after flying on that airline.
Oh, I hadn’t even thought of that until you mentioned it, but since Amazon bought WF, our local store transitioned to have approximately 25-30% of its floor area as open, buffet style food bars. Wonder how popular that is right now?
USATF Masters Indoor National Championship (track meet for old people) was just cancelled. Was to be this weekend, March 13-15 in Baton Rouge Louisiana. I wasn’t going anyway. I think that’s due to old people being higher risk. National Wheelchair basketball tournament is still on for Wichita Kansas. I think all NCAA basketball conference tournaments are still on.
We are going to cancel our trip to France (were leaving 3/19) that included a Viking River Cruise, 4 days in Paris before and a week in Avignon after.
So we were just getting ready to book that around the Hawaiian islands cruise for January 2021.
It’s either a really good time to book…or a really stupid idea!
It’s my birthday present, and I’ve waited a long time to book this trip.
Argh.
It was completely dead but it was 4:00ish on a Tuesday afternoon. They had just finished putting things our for the dinner crowd so everything was fresh and untouched. Whole Foods was pretty dead all around. Trader Joe’s was a little busier. Couldn’t help but think that with the stock market tank, Whole Paycheck might not be in more people’s budget any longer. I was there stocking up on sale stuff myself.
dumb question…how does a change work? Do you need to pick a specific date in the future, or can you leave it open-ended and take a credit towards a future flight?
I have tickets on Delta for an admitted student weekend coming up that I believe will be canceled.
I’d call the airlines and inquire. They may have different procedures and you may want to wait to see how this goes before committing to a new flight. Next change may have regular fees.
@2MOMOCARLY - can you see if friends will stop by bath and body works. In Ontario, CA they had an entire display of them. They are no longer online, just in store.
@INJParent- their employees were even more clueless. They didnt know even the International fees were waived.
- Update- their site says fees are waived for tickets even if purchased before Mar 1 but **only for flights scheduled through April 30. ** Sure wish they’d be consistent and clear.
Our Costco had plenty of Chlorox and tissue paper and some diapers and baby wipes, but TP apparently sells out shortly after opening per one employee. The storage shelves above canned food were mostly empty.
We bought milk and berries. The essentials!
Can’t find TP, just buy facial tissue/Kleenex. Basically the same thing.
Funny thing the same Costco had packages and packages of flushable wet wipes.
I guess those are more expensive. I also had to endure Mr.'s dad jokes about TP!
LOL, of course! Mr. wanted to buy tissues, but I told him that we have plenty of TP.
Tissues and napkins are not flush able the way TP is. It is not the same thing. Don’t flush non TP paper products.
No hand sanitizer or Zinc tablets anywhere in Michigan… Feel like I have been just about everywhere.
But went shopping for my 90 year old mother and she needed… Paper towels and toilet paper and she normally gets those mega rolls so it lasts. Seems like every person had at least one mega roll or 2 of something.
Thanks goodness they still had Sanders Bumpy cake left… Lol
So it really hits home. I am changing D’s spring break tickets to tomorrow so she can flight home with her friends who went there to visit her. And just so happen H is also there for work. The 4 of them will be taking a red eye tomorrow.
She is bringing most of her things in case they will continue to hold online classes after spring break, or worse cancel the rest of the semester. This is so surreal.
Our city announced that the Diamond Princess would not be anchoring off our city this month. Duh, I think anyone could have figured that out. The city is requesting that the other planned cruise stops between now and June not happen.
I went to Whole Foods today. It was just before noon and it was busy. I got a bag of zinc lozenges and the vegetables I cane in for. Also stopped at a small Target, they were so,d out of all anti bacterial soap, hand sanitizer and wipes. I saw a couple of packs of store brand TP.
Just a thought— yes it wold be ore expensive, bu if people (in general, not speaking to CC’ers) are so desperate for toilet paper and the store is out, why don’t they just by kleenex (or other brand) tissues?
