I got a statement today with a notice of payment due by 7/17 even though the statement period ends later. So there would have been no late fee, even if I hadn’t already paid online.
“Citi won’t be assessing late fees for payments due June 20‑July 31, 2016.”
Glad to hear! I know mine won’t be late but I bet many others (who aren’t on CC!) will be.
I paid my Amex statement balance on the 18th. The Visa online statement does not show the payment but reflects it in the total. Fingers crossed.
Just received my CitiBank statement today! Due 7/16.
Apparently Sam’s has invited Costco members to check it out this week. Might go out of curiosity, but from what I remember from our Sam’s Club days many years ago, Costco merchandise is far superior.
I wonder who is regretting the split more, Amex or Costco?
Both companies experienced an earnings drop after the split announcement and as it neared http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/news/2016/04/22/american-express-expects-profit-to-drop-after.html
I got my bill. I set up the new online billpay from my bank. It goes to an address in Louisville, KY. Is that true for other folks?
That’s where mine is going.
Mine goes to Arizona - I’m in CA.
I set the new Citi bill pay through my credit union.
I did not need an address, I’m sure the payment is by electrons.
I just put Citi in the vendor box and it gave me options (CitiMortgage, CitiCards, etc.).
I chose CitiCards and put in account number.
Went back to check, no address associated with that bill and no longer with several others.
Credit union has a disclaimer that the company notifies them directly if the address changes.
Mine is also going to Arizona and I, too, am in CA.
^^^ Maybe our payments need to made within similar climate zones. :))
A little off topic. I’m curious why people choose to pay the bills through their bank/credit union instead of paying on the credit card site? I realize you have to choose one or the other, I’m just curious if there’s a real reason or it just happened that way. I’ve never used my credit union bill pay, I’ve always gone to the credit card company site and had them withdraw from my credit union.
I pay my bills exclusively by calling the pay-by-phone number. If it’s a provider, I put the balance on my credit card. If it’s a credit card, I pay the balance via my checking account. I have only a few utilities on direct auto-pay, as getting the statement reminds me to look at it BEFORE paying–checking to be sure the charges are ones we have actually made! Our utility bills are pretty standard and low. I don’t like paying online.
I can pay all my bills in one place with the online banking site, though if you have an e-bill and want to see details you would have to go to that site. Also, if you need it to be credited the same day, you need to use the company not bank site. Mainly I like the convenience of seeing it all in one place.
I only pay through my bank website. I control who/what/where/when the bills are paid and I can see all the pending payments on the online account. Much prefer this to paying through the credit card company, and IMO more secure. if/when a credit card company gets hacked, they have your banking info. No thanks.
I pay my bills - no autopayments, no saved CC info - through the utilities’ websites using my CC. (I will have the Visa number memorized soon, like I had the Amex number). Then I pay my CC through its site. That way, I get the 1% cashback from my utility bills!
My calendar says I have 2 bills to review and pay tomorrow.
We pay the cellphone bill on the cr card to get 5% back
Wow, that’s awesome - can you share what kind of CC gives you a 5% cashback?
