Costco or Sam's Club

I normally don’t buy many frozen vegetables. H is not much of a veggie eater beyond peas, canned green beans, corn on the cob so I thought this would be a way to have a quick and ready veggie serving for myself! I’ll try it next with a little oil and air fry longer or try roasting in the oven for a longer period of time. Or make soup!

Oh dear. I was looking at those and thinking about buying. Thanks for the heads up! I’d probably do a soup with these if they are not great for roasting. Agree with your husband: frozen peas, corn, and green beans are ok. The rest of frozen veggies are not that great. Looking at you, peppers and mushrooms!

So glad I clicked on this thread. I saw those vegetables on some instagram feed and I was going to try them. I don’t do a lot of frozen but like you I thought it’s good to have on hand. I do buy the frozen broccoli from Costco. It’s really nice to have for when I have no fresh produce. I also like to take a few florets out and microwave or air fry for the two year old.

From Costco. Yummy!

I’ll try them again with a different method and report back!

These are a great price but I don’t think I would use them enough and they would go stale!

I broke them up into 6ish-oz storage bags in the freezer, enough to cover the bottom of the air fryer basket. Add to salad, chopped meat becoming burger, whatever.

You can return these even if they are opened.

I have purchased the PuraVida Fire Roasted Primavera Mistura, which is red bell pepper, zucchini, yellow squash, red onions, and broccoli. Sprouts sells the small package of many of the different varieties of PuraVida veggies. The instructions called for cooking on the stovetop by adding 1 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil to a nonstick pan and adding the vegetable.

For a frozen vegetable, I thought they were decent. It kept me from having to prepare another dish for my dinner!

Yes I went with the air fryer method only because it was listed as the preferred method!

For the Sam’s/Costco jumbo pumpkin pies… how do you cut and serve them? With the traditional wedge method, you get awkward long skinny slices. I’m pondering first doing a round center cutout (maybe with a coffee can?). But perhaps others have a better suggestion.

You can cut a rectangle out of the middle (and then cut that into square pieces to plate) and then you’ll have two half circles that are much smaller so you can get a normal size pie wedge.

Do I do this? No, I just hack away at it, eating whatever size piece we like.

We are also hackers!

I like the just eat it with a spoon method.

The one Costco pie i absolutely love is their cherry pie. If I buy it (usually when having people over) there will be plenty left. I take it, cut it like you might cut brownies - cut into squares and then freeze the pieces to eat later. This actually can work at an event too as some people love the crust and some would rather have more filling.

Or this is really creative! If you can’t see it or it’s not allowed I’ll describe better:

Basically she takes a small round taller cookie cutter/biscuit cutter and goes around the pie near the edge and then in the middle punching out small round mounds of pie - then topping with whipped cream! She takes the “scraps” then and uses them in making milk shakes/smoothies. Great idea.

I just saw this hack for slicing a cake - looks like it would work for the pie, and you could start with half of it.

Normally we are hackers. But I’m serving the jumbo pie to guests tonight, was trying to think of a neater way…

There is a maple butter pecan bar cake at Costco which I am so excited to try this weekend on football Sunday. My H wanted to get it today but I knew that would be a mistake.

They were handing out samples of the maple butter pecan bar cake at our Costco. DH and D23 (home on fall break) both raved about how good it was!!
