Could I get into Harvard or MIT with these stats...?

I revisited my list and I was daunted by the prestige/elite college I chose … I’m starting to doubt if I even have a slight chance. Should I reconsider my college choices? What do you guys think?

My College List: Caltech, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Georgia Tech, UCLA, berkeley, Harvey Mudd, Stanford, Columbia, U of Michigan

General Info:
Female
International
Attended school in Japan, the US, and Argentina(if it matters at all, I speak three languages including Japanese.)
Mid-high income
Heavy course load
Also, I am half latina/asian with double citizenship.

Stats:

UW GPA: 4.0
Weighted: 4.4
ACT: Comp 33 English 35 Math:36 Reading 32 Science 32
Subject tests Physics:800
Subject tests Math 2 :800

Course Load: IB diploma(classes are all higher level, including the most rigorous physics, chemistry, and mathematics) Calc AB (5)
Common Awards (AP Scholar, honor roll, NM things, etc.): honor roll, other awards like high academic achievement in mathematics, physics, social studies, etc. Nothing international worthy.

Subjective:

Recommendations (3 teachers): pretty good. Physics teacher loves me. social… meh. acceptable.

Extracurriculars (just a snippit):
National Honor Society(3 years)
Editor in chief school newspaper(3years)
Swimming Varsity (3 years)
MUN (best speaker, 3 years)
Big Brother Big Sister Executive(a community service club; provides tutoring for elementary school children

Summer program: accepted to a very competitive(10% acceptance) summer science program, did research.

Your stats suggest that you are perfectly qualified to attend Harvard or MIT. Like 90% of their applicants. So yes, you could get accepted, but statistically speaking it seems rather unlikely without any outstanding achievement.

Of course, I would expect that from a top ivy-league. Thank you for your input! I am quite anxious with this whole college selection process.

nice…latina/asian—you may just be labelled urm with latina which will boost your chance

You will be guaranteed admission. That is what your academic stats suggests. Now, the most important factors that play huge role in admission are your essays and ECAs. Since you donot have good ECAs, the chance of getting admission is slim, so you must work hard on your essays.

(source- Family background; Brother in princeton, sister in Stanford)

Caltech, Harvard, MIT and Stanford are your reaches. Georgia Tech, U of Michigan you can conquer easily. Try applying to amherst, bowdoin, wesleyan you have good chance there.

I got accepted to Caltech, Harvey Mudd, Columbia, among other good to okay schools. Horray! Honestly, Caltech came to me as a surprise.

Congrats. Out of curiosity, how much aid did you receive from H Mudd(if any) ?

none, sadly :frowning: But my father’s job subsidizes a lot of my education costs so…
