Could someone explain regents to me?

<p>i was just wondering if someone could explain the regents UC program to me. i keep seeing people mentioning it but i have no idea what it is</p>

<p>when they review applications, they pick the “top” students for the regents scholarship, which may vary in amounts of $ for each person</p>

<p>Regents’ Scholars are picked from among the top 2% of the applicants to UC Berkeley (or any other UC, for that matter) and the award meets full financial aid (as in what FAFSA says it is, grrr), or is a nice $1000 a year for non-aid-ers. The amount changes from UC to UC (Berkeley is the least, i think).<br>
