<p>Thank you Dean J. It’s hard to be a successful engineering student who is working her butt off to maintain above a 3.0, and have people think that their school is far better. As a transfer hopeful into the E-School, I know the strengths of both VT and UVA, and both are amazing schools. They just happen to suit different people in different ways.
Kudos to you for trying to make sure students are aware that there are other schools that suit other people, either for better or worse than UVA. It’s important to teach students to not be niave about the world around them, and exist beyond their “bubble” of comfort. Thank you for voicing your opinion on this, i’m sure you have many collegues with association to VT (Dean Paxton was very impressed with my choice of VT). Hopefully this thread will shift back to comparing the differences between the two school’s engineering department (which seems to be the only department being questioned) and those in need of help and opinions can get honest, straight-forward, unbiased opinions they need to help them make a decision.</p>
<p>How are those transfer applications coming? I think i’ve finally stopped worrying 100% of the time about mine =P I’m just trying to sit back and coast through the next month…although i’m not a big fan of tea, so i’ll stick with lemonade since the weather is so nice these days ;)</p>
