is anyone a bit nervous about choate this fall… I am excited but nervous at the same time. Does anyone know about schedules and what not?

I am nervous! But really excited.

Schedule such as the daily schedule? The daily schedule can be found online on CHIP or some other places, just look around or search. The orientation days schedule will be wiht your student handbook!

i am so excited for you guys to come in september ![]()
it has been an amazing year

Saer,
I got the student handbook a few days ago. There seems to be so many rules; did you get that vibe as well?
When I was talking about schedule I meant the class schedule. I am nervous about the classes. My friend went from our brother school to Exeter this year, and he said it was a much different atmosphere. He then preceded to say, that he didn’t think Choate would be very similar in the department of academic rigor.
Do you know when the fall preliminary schedules come out?
Hope your summer is going well,
sl09

I don’t know when the schedules come out, but, ehem, tell your friend to bug off. Choate is pretty rigorous, I think. They’re making me take Elementary Spanish after three years of taking the language at my old school, I’d say they’re intense.

The rules are pretty strict, but I totally didn’t get that feeling during my two visits on campus. Everyone seemed laid back and enjoying their time there, even with intense classwork and the daily struggles of being a BS student.

dont worry too much about the rules. for the most part everyone follows them, but generally it is common sense. they just have to document the common sense so that they have something to refer to if someone cheats etc.
but really, during the school year i have never felt like i am not free to do almost whatever i want.

xoxcookie- nice to see your posts again! How was your first year? Was it everything you anticipated?

i thought id stop by and see what was going on :)

i loved my first year, it has been one of the best years of my life and i am so glad i decided to go to choate. it was a perfect fit for me and i have made so many friends. boarding school has really helped me mature too. i cant wait to meet the new students next year.

sl09, the preliminary fall schedules came out a couple days ago on CHIP ![]()
ahh i’m really excited!

Woo! I got my prelim schedule.
Geometry Honors, Physics, World History Thematic, Comp and Lit, and Elem Spanish. Woo
Still not happy being in Elem Spanish… But oh well!

Prelim’s are out… oh I had better check that then, eh? It’s hard to believe there’s not too much time left of summer, it kinda freaks me out a bit. I am excited for school though, this fall should be quite interesting.

How many days is it now… I haven’t finished summer reading yet. Should probably get to it, eh? Have you all finished it yet?

It’s like 22 days for me… Because of preseason.
I’ve finished 1984, and read Ella Minnow Pea, Kite Runner, and A Prayer For Owen Meany. I’m also reading A Brief History of Time but that’s just because I’m nervous about Physics… :P
