I worked full-time hours at a supermarket for almost all iof HS to pay for college, but most of the customers just assumed that was my life. When I tried to say bye to people most of them would be like “Ohhhh, Carneeegie Mellon, thats nice. So you’re studying to be the Produce Manager?” smacks head on desk, repeatedly

hmm…well me personally it wasnt too hard to pick McGill…

espeically since it was cheaper, more partyish place than cornell and i saw a lot of ranking even place McGill above cornell…plus the whole american visa problem put me off…those people have issues…

i actually had a more difficult time deciding between McGill and queen’s commerce…academically a much better program with better repuatation in canada…

since i plan on going to grad school in america it I think McGill will be ok

hmm i chose mcgill because of the city really.

i wanted to study communications/pr or something along those lines and got accepted to syracuse (supposedly really good in comm and all) and penn state and some other non-east coast schools but i just thought, why the hell would i go to the middle of nowhere to study that? and city schools like nyu would be too expensive. so i compromised for marketing at mcgill…

undergrad doesn’t define what you’ll do as a career or whatever u do later on in life anyways~

same with me Oshkeoto, I rejected Worcester Polytechnic, Polythechnic U, and RPI for McGill, but all those are truely nothing compared t McGill (and yet far more expensive)

I chose McGill for Montreal, money and family.

My grandfather went to McGill.

Plus, my other choices were RPI, RIT, and UVM.

It was pretty easy with those choices.

RPI? 25% girls -Come on now
UVM cheap but between that and McGill no problem
RIT? expensive and not worth it although still better that RPI in my opinion.

I can’t wait till next year.

We should be hearing about dorms soon too, Woohoo.

Sadly, not too soon. They don’t post dorm decisions online, so you have to wait for the snail mail - early July sometime. Ugh, waiting to hear is so painful!

I rejected the University of Chicago because of its core curriculum; I’m not spending $45,000 a year to take classes I don’t want to take.

I rejected Northwestern because my parents live in Evanston.

It was, in the end, between Brown and McGill, and though I loved Providence and every Brown student I met on my trip there, I heard repeatedly that it was a very enclosed campus. In the end, I decided McGill would be a better experience: Montreal beats Providence about two thousand times over, McGill students are much more integrated into the city (or so I’ve been told), and the student body is much more diverse and international.

hey! i rejected northwestern and brown as well for mcgill- but that was last year… my friends in the states always thought i was crazy for not going to brown but hey, honestly montreal is so much better then providence -and mcgill also beats brown in my book.

wow, I think you guys are crazy too, lol. Although it’s probably because I’m Canadian and we regard your schools more highly than you do, just as you probably regard our schools more highly than we do. And I thought I was kinda crazy for rejecting Queen’s commerce and Richard Ivey at Western. Montreal can do that to you too. I can’t wait to live in Montreal. But it makes me feel a lot better when I tell people that I’m going to McGill and they all look really surprised (in a good way) and congratulate me wholeheartedly. I have to say that it does feel good.

I once saw a t-shirt that said… “Harvard - the American McGill”

hmm i think it’s “the mcgill of america” but yeah they sell those shirts during late august/early sept normally. get one in ur size EARLY

i have one :-)

but i had to shrink this huge large sized one in hot water and hot drying to get it to fit haha

where can you get one?

by the roddick gates

is the school selling them? how early should and can we get them? I certainly would like one!

no it’s just some ppl selling them…entrepreneurs? i dunno…they make pretty good business tho :-D

there’s just a table by the gates

i saw that the other day too, but I think its only funny to those actually going to mcgill…

yea I told it to a harvard friend of mine, he made a sour face.

haha… i should buy one for my friend at queens to tick him off… Although it would just lead to a big “my horse is bigger than your horse” type argument…

hey… my horse IS bigger than your horse.

I challenge you to a jousting match. :-p
