I know I’m behind the times. I’d like to transfer music I have on our PC to my iPhone. What kind of different playlists do you create and title? I will just be using this with my small speaker, sitting outside, taking on vacation to listen in hotel room, etc. I like a mixture of music. Do you have like “easy listening “, or top hits, etc. not sure how to do this.
It has to be what you want! This is YOUR choice! Do you like to listen to a several songs from one artist at a time? Do you like to listen to all one genre or tempo - or do you like to mix it up?
That’s really what playlists are. A list created for different times you might listen to music. Walking playlist. Running playlist. Gardening playlist. Lounging in the sun playlist. Calmer playlist that you play while doing computer work or paying bills or something.
How do you have your music on your computer? Is your music on iTunes?
Maybe just start with one artist that you really like. Make a playlist of their favorite songs you like.
I always have one running (meaning continuous) playlist that I drop any new songs that I hear and like into. I label that list by the year or time of year - right now I have a “Spring 2019” playlist I drop any music into that’s new to me and a favorite. I probably make 2 of these playlists a year.
I orginally loaded a bunch of music to my phone from my computer then I made a playlist on the phone in Google Play of songs that were good for the gym. Otherwise I usually just let Spotify choose playlists for me. I told them everything I like and it suggests a bunch of mixes. One is usually Americana, another Metal and hard rock, and another 1960s music. If I’m not in the mood for any of that, I just pick an artist and see where Spotify takes me. I tend to mix it up, but I don’t like classical mixed in with the other stuff, so I didn’t load any classical music to the phone, that way, I can just click “shuffle all”. If I weren’t such a cheapskate, I’m sure there would be better ways to do this.
I have playlists for walking and biking with songs of a specific tempo for my speed. When I hear new songs I like, I often listen a few times, then buy on iTunes, so my Purchased playlist is full of new favorite songs. I have a Country playlist for when I’m in the mood for country music. I also have a Ballads playlist for slower songs.
Thanks everyone. I started this morning, but stopped and I was getting overwhelmed. I was just proud I figured how to download it from my computer.
I’ve been super satisfied with the stations on Pandora. I use the free version with ads, and the ads do not bug me at all.
If you have not explored the stations on Pandora, or Spotify or Amazon Music @conmama I recommend you check it out. You might find it’s easier and more fun than creating your own playlists. I’ve discovered new artists and songs by listening to, say, the Red Hot Chili Peppers station on Pandora.
Happy Hits! is my favorite Spotify canned playlist on Spotify!
