Credit/no credit

Can you use this your first quarter? Im planning on adding math 118 and I am HORRIBLE at math, and I need to keep my GPA up to change into nutrition and get into Physical Therapy school so I was planning to do credit/no credit. Any insight on this? Thanks!

From reading this:

[Credit / No Credit Grading Information (CR / NC) - Office of the Registrar- Cal Poly](http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/records/registration/credit_nocrps2.html)

It looks like you can only take No Credit (NC) for a

max of 16 units in your entire college years

have a 2.0 GPA (waived for 1st quarter ,freshman) Think this is the answer to your 1st quarter question

Maximum of 4 units towards major/support area (student MUST have approval from Major department).
Maximum of 4 units towards GE courses.
Remaining units (to a maximum of 16) may be used for elective units.

Students must make their credit / no-credit selections by the deadline on the 8th day of instruction

I would read the link and talk to your advisor, then look on the academic calendar to see when the 8th day of instruction is.

Just noticed that each college may have their own credit/no credit policy.

I quoted the General Cal Poly policy.

Best thing to do for your own research is go on:

also same stuff is on mycalpoly/Advising

Good stuff on there, read the Welcome tab too—it says “advising starts in summer”, get to know them by email or phone, and more tabs will be added as it gets closer to the fall quarter.
