I think that last year a lot of people got notified on the 11th (a friday). So this Friday seems like a hopeful day .
Havenāt heard a lot from Boulder since the intitial admisions application was completed. My son did recieve an invite to join a live chat/webinar type of thing this Wenesday that will discuss financial aid and scholarship info and proccesses. Seems odd to have that before being accepted?! So I am secretly hoping that maybe they will be updating with decisions sooner than Friday!! lol - a Mom can at least hope :-).
Good luck to all those that are waiting! Hope we can all come back this Friday (or sooner) to update with good news.
I got the financial aid email today from Cu Boulder admissions as well, idk if it means anything special but I have my fingers crossed! Iām OOS GA and have a friend who was accepted last year on the 13th of January so Iām hoping to hear from admissions soon!
is cu boulder rolling? cuz last yearās thread said it was rolling, but I emailed my regional counselor, and they said that they donāt offer rolling admissions, so Iām a bit scared.
also do I have a good chance of getting in?
these are my stats:
hi I am a senior
applied to CU Boulder Engineering
Aerospace engineering major
GPA - Unweighted: 3.604, weighted: 3.76
SAT composite - 1470 (800 math and 670 reading/writing)
Last year, I took 1 AP course (AP Physics 1) and 3 honors (PreCalc H, Spanish III H, and US History II H), and I got a 4 on the AP Physics 1 exam.
This year, I am taking 5 APs (AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, AP Statistics, and AP Principles of CompSci) and 1 honors course (English H)
Also, I am in Varsity Tennis, Winter and Spring Track, Leader of Chess Club, Math Team, Leader of Stem Club, etc.
@poopy7654321 You have an excellent chance of getting in. CU does not have rolling admissions, but the regular decision application date is not until Jan. 15th. If you submitted by 11/15, decisions are released by 2/1. Applications submitted by Jan. 15th will get a decision by April 1st.
itās not rolling⦠it was rolling admissions maybe 3 years ago, but they have since changed. EA applicants should start hearing back over the next few weeks. Acceptance notifications tend to come out in groups, based on the school you applied to. I seem to remember Arts & Sciences coming out first.
What are my chances?
OOS PA
1530 SAT 35 ACT 4.8 GPA
Engineering - Aerospace
200+ community service hours
Some regional computer science and engineering competition awards
Theater program, Pres of NHS, Job as an artist at a toy store, Rocketry club, CS competition club, etc.
aerospace engineering summer program at cu boulder the summer after freshman year
@sborislow With your stats, you have a very high chance of getting in. Your GPA and scores are very good, and your ECs are very strong. The summer program definitely increases your chances on top of everything else.
The red X is gone from my sonās portal now. He got an email from admissions saying that his midterm grades had been processed and his portal was updated. No clue whether that bodes well. Time will tell, I guess!
I seem to remember the emails/decisions posting towards the end of the day on a Friday in previous years. I always assumed it was to give applicants the weekend to absorb and hopefully lessen the number of calls in to the admissions office.
