Hi,
I am considering applying. I have a 3.85ish unweighted GPA, have to run the calculation again after my dual enrollment class I took, and approximately a 4.3 weighted uncapped. Also will have 11 APs and approved honors courses completed by the end of this year. 5 years of Math. No SAT or ACT to submit. I do have Senior Class President, ASB Clubs Commissioner (over 100 clubs to manage), US Congressman’s Student leadership Council, California Boys and Girls State-Elected to Assembly, Varsity lacrosse multiple years, US naval Academy Summer Stem leadership award, and a bunch of other items to list on the app. I will be applying for Political Science potentially. Any thoughts on my prospects?
Your Stats look great for your potential major.
CU Boulder looks at weighted GPAs over unweighted- so that should really help you out.
How many years of Foreign Language do you have? They like to see 3 yrs for the College of Arts & Science (but if everything else is strong- should not be a showstopper)
The unknowns for your application are going to be your essays and LOR. If those are top notch- then should be Ok.
This school is gaining popularity very quickly- so that is my biggest concern.
Historically- OOS admittance for Political Science is around 80%
Will this application cycle match previous cycles!? I wish I knew.
You can play around with this:

Good luck!
Thanks, I completed three years of high school Spanish. Any thoughts on which teacher is the best for a LOR? I assume my AP Government teacher would be good but if it needs to be a Junior year teacher then my AP US History or AP Human Geography teachers would be good choices.
The best teacher for your LOR is going to be the teacher who knows you well and is willing to give you glowing reviews!!!
Bonus if that teacher is from a class that also relates to your planned major.
Most people choose a Junior year teacher because they have known them for over a year and their memory of you if still fresh and relevant.
Boulder requires 1 LOR- but you can always submit 1-2 more if you have teachers/councilors that can help add to your overall application in a positive way.
