How do we know if we got into Honors? I got the 25k Chancellor’s scholarship but see nothing about the honors college. 1530 SAT 35 ACT OOS female for Aerospace Engineering.
DD (in state) accepted to TAM in Engineering with $20K Sewell scholarship. 1550 SAT, 3.95 UW/4.7W gpa. For those who are wondering about honors, Engineering college has separate application for honors program - no decisions made until Feb.
Son accepted! Integrative physiology. 26 ACT, 3.65 UW GPA. OOS.
@mrglubglub I was wondering about the Honors College! I was hoping to get in and was a bit disappointed when I didn’t receive notification of it. Good to know engineering isn’t until later on! Thanks!
Long time lurker, first time poster but wanted to add my daughter’s info to help those for the future!

OOS Son accepted into pre-Engineering (Aerospace). 1480 SAT, 34 ACT, 4.3 weighted GPA. He Received $55K Presidential Scholarship and an invite to Honors College. He is VERY disappointed that he didn’t get a direct admission to Engineering program as Boulder was his #1 choice. Just curious what other schools your engineering kids applied to and application decisions. My Son applied EA to UofM Engineering (accepted), EA to Embry-Riddle Engineering (accepted), EA to Purdue Engineering (waiting to hear) and Princeton Engineering (waiting to hear).
@sborislow make sure you get the Engineering Honors Program application in by Feb 1. Has separate essays, etc.
PSA, scholarship recipients should keep in mind that the total is for all four years, so for example, the 25k Chancellor’s is $6,250 per year.
Hello, for those whose kids got both the Honors Program and the scholarships, was the scholarship listed in the Honors Program letter, or was that a separate letter “attached” at the bottom of the Acceptance Letter?
My son got accepted into Pre-Business and the LAS Honors Program, but I don’t see anything about a merit scholarship, and he would really need that to be able to attend, as he is unlikely to get a need-based scholarship, and we are out OOS. He got a Merit Scholarship to Oregon, so I was hoping for something similar.
CU is notorious for not giving a lot of $ away. U of Oregon tends to give a lot more for merit scholarships. We will probably make our final decision between CU and Oregon.
Got into DU also, but they are even more stingy with $.
Accepted into class of 2024!
OOS (Oregon)
Direct into Civil Engineering BS, College of Engineering
1440 SAT, 3.98 GPA UW, 4.35 W
7/11 possible AP classes taken: rigorous schedules my junior and senior year.
Rower for 5 years, NHS member for 2 years, also part of a social justice group.
Also got the Chancellor’s Scholarship (25k$)
Congrats to everyone who got accepted today! SKO BUFFS!
Also, to the person who is considering between CU and UO, as someone who lives 10 min from UO campus, it is a great school! Definitely one to consider!
Our son was accepted into CS Engineering with a Presidential scholarship. We’re from Texas and he’s looking forward to visiting campus!
Hi! Got accepted today for Engineering Physics, which is super excited! I’m a little curious about the scholarships, however. I’m an out of state student with the following stats:
- 36 ACT
- 1580 SAT
- 800 SAT math 2, 800 SAT physics, 800 SAT US history
- Multiple APs with all 5s
- 4.0 UW, 4.6 W
I was chosen for the Chancellor’s scholarship, which is fantastic, but, to be honest, I’m a little surprised my stats didn’t land me in the top 1-3% necessary for the Presidenal scholarship. Does anyone have any possible explinations for this? Thanks!
@Jimmobrien11 – Just saw your question in post # 78. My S had a 1510 SAT (one sitting 790 M / 720 R), and a 3.5 UW / 4.7 W GPA. OOS. Chemistry.
@NorCalsoccermom – In our case, both the scholarship and Honors College invite were included in the same letter – the link of which was at the bottom of the acceptance letter (and entitled “Top Scholar Notification”)
