CU Boulder Early Action 2024

@twoinanddone There were several posts on this board of students being accepted to pre-engineering.

@collegemomjam How was the rigor of this student’s classes?

@Edisonian My daughter got the acceptance envelope in the mail on Friday.

My son’s portal updated on 1/17 and his black envelope arrived in the mail yesterday (1/25).

Son got his acceptance in the mail a couple of days ago. Direct entry to integrative physiology. Zero in scholarship money for OOS, so probably going to be a hard pass. Good luck to everyone in finding the school that fits you best.

My son just got mail this past Friday 01/24/2020 and an update to his portal on getting scholarship. OOS Engineering acceptance

My D did get her acceptance in the mail on Friday as well!

Has anyone heard about acceptance (or not) into the engineering honors program?

Exploratory studies is new, so. Or lots of info, but I was there last week for BE Boulder and I really liked what they had to say. My son intentionally applied to Exploratory Studies and afternoon meeting with them and hearing the presentation I’m glad he did. He committed the following day. Just for context
My second son just accepted his offer of admission for the class of 2024. My older son in a junior and we do not consider it a consolation prize. We are out of state and my older son was accepted to UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCSB, UC Davis and Cal Poly Engineering among others. My younger son turned down Cal Poly and schools in Oregon offering significant merit packages. It’s really about finding your people. CU is a Tier 1 university in a beautiful setting. They have done a good job of making a large campus feel small through RAPs and LLCs. Many courses are taught in freshman dorms if the student is in a RAP. Do not be fooled by the party school rep. CU is is full of extremely smart, motivated kids and those that don’t stay on Top of their work quickly find themselves in academic trouble. There is definitely an active social/party scene, but that doesn’t take away from the intellect of the students. Happy to answer any other questions - we are out of state from California

My older son was a direct admit to Engineering in 2017 - I can attest to the rigor of the Engineering classes

They have not ended pre-engineering. I sat with student at Be Boulder that were admitted to pre-engineering. My older son was a direct admit to Engineering in 2017 - I can attest to the rigor of the Engineering classes

All pre- business students live in Williams Village. They have no problem bonding as it’s almost all freshman. They form very close relationships. They have the best food, their own gym
And even a small health center. They also ha e the Buff Bus if they don’t want to walk. It’s really not an issue at all

There are two undergraduate CA degrees at CU, one is in Arts and Science and the other through College of Engineering

He is unlikely to get more than the $25K and the $10K, though there are some small scholarships he can apply for after freshman. Year. My son regularly got an additional $500 per year general engineering scholarship

Has anyone received a decision yet for regular decision? Last year, CU started sending out RD on March 1st.

Just curious - has anyone heard back from the Engineering Honors Program regarding acceptance?

MY daughter told me she got in.
