I found out Jan 10. I got accepted into the college of engineering for aerospace engineering.
My son hasnāt heard yet either. Iām concernedā¦
My son received acceptance to College of Engineering on 1/11. We are OOS (MD). No merit money.
1440 SAT (760 math)
2 sports for 4 years plus several clubs
Peer Advisor
Named Scholar at his school
GPA 3.73
80% honors & AP classes
Seeing what others have posted and given the lack of merit money in his acceptance, I am thinking its not worth it for him to apply for the additional engineering scholarships.
Just checking in to see whether there are others who have heard nothing yet? Also if there have been deferments or rejections. It seems like all the Jan 11 notifications were good news
Still have not heardā¦
Have those of you that havenāt heard looks at the admission status portal? 3 years ago, my daughter did NOT get the email (lost in cyberspace?) but we checked the portal and she had been admitted.
Yes, my son is checking daily. It just says that everything is complete
so nerve wracking, Iām sure. I remember some groups of acceptances being sent in past years all the way up to the Feb 1 deadline.
Still havenāt heard
Itās a relief that weāre not the only onesā¦
I applied for regular decisions and turned in everything on the 22nd of December.

OOS son from VA just heard this afternoon (1/17) that he got into Exploratory, but not directly into CMCI.
If anyone has intel on the realities of Exploratory Studies, and how hard/smooth the transition is to transfer into the program of his choice, it would be very welcome! Good luck to all!
Sounds like somewhat of a new program that just started this last Fall. So thereās not a whole lot of information about students progress in this program. It does sound like a great program for students who are unsure of what they really want to do, but Iām a little leery of it for students who have more of a focus already.
My son also got into Exploratory Studies instead of the major he was going for. He declined and has confirmed his enrollment at Colorado School of Mines instead. He was pretty bummed over not getting his intended major at CU Boulder.
My in state son was deferred until April 1. We did not get an email just kept
Checking the portal. They want his 7th semester grades.
My D was accepted on Jan. 10th OOS to Leeds. She has an interview coming up with a local '16 alumnus (who has a stellar job in venture capital, btw). Has anyone received their admissions packet in the mail yet?
Nothing by mail yet.
Not sure if anyone might have some insight into this situationā¦
I know of an OOS applicant (white male, if that matters) with a 1460 (730, 730) and 3.94 unweighted GPA who applied mechanical engineering. He was accepted to Arts and Sciences with the Chancellors Scholarship, but didnāt even get pre-engineering. We are very confused.
Anyone think this could be a mistake or is it that much harder to get into engineering that even chancellors students with strong stats donāt get at least pre-engineering???
He never officially visited, although he would probably go there if he got into the program he wants. Not sure if maybe the fact that he didnāt visit hurt him? I see OOS students with lower stats that got in engineering. The fact that he didnāt even get pre-engineering is really throwing us.
My OOS DD got into direct engineering (Chemical) with slightly higher GPA, higher math sat and lower english sat. She got merit but the second level.
DS was deferred. He checked portal 1/19/2020.
For those of you who have been accepted, anyone get anything in the mail yet?
There is a post above that says CU is ending the pre-engineering program. Maybe thatās it and they just havenāt explained that well.
