Daughter was notified yesterday (10 Jan) around 5PM. Instate student and College of Arts and Science. Admitted to Molecular Biology with 3.6 GPA and 1310 SAT.
Daughter was notified 1/10 around 4:30 PM. Instate student accepted to Entrepreneurship and Management at LEEDS. Direct admit to Honors with merit scholarship. 1470 SAT/ 4.3 GPA W. She had completed the app for LEEDS Scholars, which is a different program from Honors (itās been confused as the same program in thread above). Notified earlier this week that she is a finalist for the scholars program and schedules an interview as the next step.
My EA OOS son has heard nothing. He is unlikely to get merit. We are hoping that the first notifications are to the top 25%, etc and that many more will trickle in. At least so far he hasnāt been deferred or rejectedā¦
Willie Villie is by far the largest housing complex. A lot of business and engineering students like to live in Kittridge, but many live in WV too.
It appears that some updates might still be posted on Saturday afternoon?
Daughter (in-state) was accepted yesterday into Electrical and Computer Engineering. She was notified last evening of the Sewall scholarship ($20k), then on Saturday afternoon of the Boettcher semifinalist for engineering for $16k (replaces the $10k engineering addition that can go with the Sewall). Very excited!
1540 SAT, GPA 4.0 UW/4.5 W, 15 APs, several awards in science, etc. Really, really hoping for the engineering honors dorm (Andrews) in February.
Son got in for pre business. From what we have read the only negative to Will Vil is having to rely on somewhat inconsistent buses. Otherwise it seems like a great place. newer dorms, AC, fitness and dining hall on site. Also for the pre business rap kids they have smaller classes right on site.
Posted this yesterday:
āSon admitted CS - College of Engineering.
OOS - California
ACT 34
GPA 4.27 (W) 3.88 (UW)
Will have 11 AP classes - - (5 done so far with AP test scores: four 5s and one 4)
Presidential Scholarship- $55K over 4 yearsā
Buy today got email from College of Engineering notifying of another scholarship of $3K per year for four years - an Engineering Merit Scholarship.
This makes it more attractive & easier to afford for OOS students.
My son was accepted to Aerospace Engineering and offered the Presidential Scholarship. Today, he received an email from the School of Engineering offering him an additional Merit Scholarship for $12,000 over 4 years. I keep seeing people saying their kids were admitted to the honors college. My son must be a top student to have been offered both the Presidential and Engineering Scholarships but there has been no mention of honors. Does engineering have an honors program? I am out of state and do not know very much about Colorado yet.
@joetsa I donāt personally know about Engineering, but in earlier exchanges in this thread, it was said that Honors for Engineering is handled differently, and requires application after acceptance. Iām sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, but I donāt think Engineering has auto-admit to honors so I wouldnāt be concerned. Congrats to your son!
@joetsa - We are in the same position - as noted in earlier posts, my son was admitted to CS in CoE - and got Presidential Scholarship and the extra $ 12K Merit Scholarship as well - but no mention of Honors College - looks one momof3co may be correct and Honors college information may come later for CoE.
@wadecoc Here is a link to information on applying to engineering honors. The deadline is Feb. 1st.
Son accepted OOS (Wisconsin) aerospace engineering.
4.2 GPA
34 ACT
APās in Calc AB and BC, Physics and Spanish.
XC and track runner, volunteer work, etc.
Chancellorās scholarship and $10k engineering dept scholarship.
Still need more $$ to make it work - crossing our fingers and crunching numbers as this is his first choice. ??
Was he accepted today, or back on Friday? Very curious about when people are being notified as my son has heard nothing. Someone at his school got in, someone was rejected, and someone seems to have been deferred. Heās hopeful but a little stressed!
Friday.
Decision: Accepted
OOS, Fem, Accepted for CS - posted on portal dated 1/10
Chancellor scholarship ($25k/4 yrs, i.e. $6250/year)
b **- got a separate Email from school of Eng with $10k/4-yr ($2500/yr) Engineering scholarship, I suppose can only pick one?
1550 SAT (790M, 760Eng), 34 ACT, GPA-4.5 (Wtd), 3.9 (Unw)
12 AP (Scholar with Distn)
We understand that the engineering scholarship offered by the school of engineering is in addition to any Chancellor/Sewall/etc scholarship. In other words, you get both. Congratulations!
Wonderful, thank you for clarifying that!
(we thought CS was under Arts, while the 2nd scholarship offer was from different department-Engineering, but going thru previous posts, looks like CS is moving under Engineering)
My daughter applied on the last day possible OOS and she found out on 1/11/20 that she got in.
