my 35 or so year old one.
I got my replacement, but I had asked for two since I owned two. Oh well, I’ll try calling them. There’s no hurry. My replacement came a week or two ago.

I filed online 12/16 for our replacement blade. Still no replacement yet.
I got an email from Cuisinart yesterday informing me that due to their being inundated with requests (as one will surely be after inundating the world with defective products), I won’t get my replacement blade until May or June! That means six months of being unable to use my food processor in its most typical way. And for that inconvenience, they are offering me a cookbook to download–as if I can’t pull a zillion recipes off the internet any time I want. The offer is downright insulting (and way too late in the game). Send me a blade or other component that didn’t come with my unit and I’ll be impressed. Or how about some cash to compensate me for losing the use of this expensive appliance for an extended time? Bravo to the folks who filed a class action against Cuisinart yesterday. Hopefully the inevitable settlement will provide something of real value to the plaintiff class–and I don’t mean more downloadable recipes.
I got an email a couple of days ago. They haven’t forgotten me… but are backlogged. They will ship mine between 5/1 and 6/15.
Well, compared to all the airbag problems in cars and how long that has been taking to get fixed for many people, I think Cuisinart has been handling it quite well. The fact that so many food processors are still out there functioning is a testament to them doing something right.
I got the letter and will have to wait until June too. The good news is that my Cuisinart came from a friend who only used it a few times. I believe it’ll be safe to use occasionally.
Yes, being informed our car had a defective airbag part BUT they wouldn’t get the replacement part for many months made us limit our use of that vehicle during those months–now our least favorite car.
Huh. I haven’t heard a peep from them. I’ve examined my current blade and it seems intact, so I’ve been using my machine. I agree – thank goodness it’s not an airbag.
^our local dealership for our car kept telling us “the airbag will be in any day” and then never call.
I finally had the idea to call another dealership and it was fixed with the week.
Ask your car maker for a rental,at THEIR expense. Airbags are a safety issue. They should be providing you with a safe car to drive until they can get it fixed.
