CUNY fall 2018 acceptance

@baker101460 @Omejia

Thank you! We called them today, and were notified we would get results sometime 2nd 3rd week in April.
I hope they can let us know earlier… I cannot relax yet.

I got accepted to the grove school of engineering and I’m going there

waitlisted on hunter ://

Has anyone else not gotten their decisions from any CUNY yet? I applied mid-January and I haven’t heard back

Does anyone know what it means when a college link disappears from the CUNY portal home page? Also, does it mean I got accepted if I was able to log into the MyCity page from City College?

@adexterawhoa My son hasn’t heard from any of CUNY he applied to. He called welcome center, they told him that he would receive emails from them sometime this week or next week. He applied on Feb 1. You call call them tomorrow, they will let you know when you can expect emails from them

@lms2300 means you were rejected

I emailed CUNY like a week ago since on the phone I was told that i should hear back around the 1st-3rd… was told that I should hear by end of April, so basically may 1st. I’m not waiting that long, I fixing to just ask for my money back and do what they want with my app. I get they’re large and I’m OOS. But the level of incompetency is mind boggling, they have lost my transcripts, no communication whatsoever, and they’re totally inconsistent, I get two drastic answers when i email or call. Should I wait or just ask for my money back?

@CCaffine i would definitely call them again and find out what’s up…maybe speak to a supervisor…they usually send the application and documents to the schools you applied to for a decision…the end of april sounds about right since they send the applications to the schools every so often…btw which school did you apply to?? maybe you can call them…

I applied to Sophie Davis (heard back, rejected), City College, Hunter, and Baruch. I emailed back basically asking if i can have consistent answer for once because if end of april is the case I’m making a decision on a school with or without their responses (obviously, a lot more formally) of course… I haven’t heard back. Perhaps I’ll call and ask for someone who is actually interested in helping me not getting me off the phone. Thanks for the suggestion

I just checked my portal and it says that decisions have been made by the schools I picked and I’ll hear back soon. All of the links are still there so I don’t understand because I got my rejection from the Sophie Davis Program. When should the portal update at this point??

I called City College and they said that a decision has not been made yet so I’m confused why the City College link disappeared from my portal. It’s seriously getting annoying at this point. First I was told by an admissions counselor that I was rejected and that I had to come in that week to file an appeal as my supporting documents were missing (Mind you, I live 5 hours away). Then I’m told by the director of admissions that no decision has been made and my appeal was premature and to wait a little while longer for a decision. This is absolute insanity.

My cuny portal updated a few days ago to a decisions have been made by the schools. The york college link disappeared… the hotline said york college will be contacting me. I called york today and told me I got accepted and i can make the 100 deposit. The link disappearing doesn’t mean mean you got rejected.

So apparently I was rejected from City College as a result of my math SAT score. However, the director of admissions told me if I get accepted by another CUNY college and take the CUNY placement exam before the Fall 2018 semester, they will admit me. I was accepted by both College of Staten Island (regular admission) and Baruch (through their SEEK program). I’m confused… are they going to make me commit to one of the other colleges in order to take the placement?

@lms2300 my guess is that they want to see how you do with the placement exam, since the results are made available to all CUNY schools. i don’t think you have to commit to a school yet, since the deadline for that is May1, but, i suggest you take the placement exam asap.

Do you have to put a stamp on the envelope when u mail the commitment letter?

@ellen77 if the envelope says postage paid, no. otherwise yes.

Does anyone know what the Opportunity for Student Success program is at Brooklyn College? I was just sent an acceptance letter and they indicated that I was also accepted into that program

@lms2300 i looked it up. it is for those students who need remedial work in math in order to pass the math placement exam from what i have read so far. i had a hard time looking it up…found a blurb in an archived catalog…suggest you call them for more info…it’s a summer program. not sure if it’s part of SEEK…

I applied to CUNY on March 11 as a General Transfer Applicant. This is after the Feb 1 priority deadline, so it will be based on available space. I only applied to Baruch for Accounting.

Stats:
Currently a freshman with a 3.24 Fall 2017 GPA.
High school average: 84/100
SAT Math: 700, SAT Reading: 690, Total: 1390/1600
I am an in-state resident, which I think they prefer.

Baruch accepted me last year but for Computer Science major, Hunter and every CUNY I applied to accepted me last year as well.

I confirmed with the Admissions office and they’ve received all of my materials/my app is complete. They said I’d get a decision around the end of May.

Does anyone have insight on this Rolling Admissions process - what are my chances of getting in? Should I send a personal statement? I really want to get into Baruch, but I’m afraid there won’t be space for me. It is way more affordable than my current school and has my best academic and social interests.

Btw, congrats to everyone who’s been accepted, and if you’re still waiting like me, good luck :slight_smile:
