Congratulations to your daughter, @BlackMare and @MeenaBeana! My daughter has applied EA so we are looking forward to when those decisions come out. @bobopeaches123 Good luck in regular decision.
Case has a Single Door Admissions policy and doesn’t admit into majors.

When in doubt, contact admissions:
Phone: 216.368.4450
Email: admission@case.edu
That would be #FunnyNotFunny to be admitted ED to CWRU, having requested a Nursing major, only to not get into Nursing.
I don’t think they would do that to you @MeenaBeana. At least I would hope not.
Let us know what they say.
Congratulations @BlackMare and @MeenaBeana! Would you mind sharing if they received any money for merit scholarships with their acceptance?
Any thoughts on likely decision release date? Last year was Wed Dec 19th at 8pm.
Case says on or about December 17
https://case.edu/admission/apply/dates-deadlines
Last year, on Dec 18 they said they needed more time and pushed it until 8pm on Dec 20
The portal has a section with anticipated release dates. I’ve noticed it changes periodically. Currently says EA on 12/19 at 8:30 PM
@aewlmom thanks
Waiting anxiously with my daughter on EA. We’ve visited twice. Future engineer.
If Case Western Financial Aid office is reaching out on an explanation/clarification on a financial form for NCP CSS Profile Waiver Request, does that mean they are positively considering the application or do they do it for all candidates who applied.
@phillyboysmom they reached out as well, I think financial aid and admission are two different offices. They just want to make sure all the paper work is in.
@phillyboysmom I think it seems like a good sign if FA reached out to you. This is completely my opinion, but it feels like your son’s app would not have been considered by FA if the school were not considering admitting him.
D just received an email confirming EA decision notifications will begin going out Thursday 8:30 PM ET. Emails will contain a link to the portal.
My D received the email too. Good luck to all.
My son received the email too. Good Luck to all.
when it says “begin going out at 8:30”, does it mean that all decisions are not released at the same time (right at 8:30) and that they, instead, come out throughout the night/following day(s)?
Anxiously awaiting the decision. Did anyone else get something from FA asking for proof of your child’s immigration status? I got that about a week ago. To clarify, my daughter was adopted internationally and is a naturalized citizen. (She wrote about that is her essay, as if it wasn’t perfectly obvious from her claimed ethnicity versus her very Anglo surname.) I’m thinking they need to know her immigration status for FA purposes. And that is a good sign, I think.
@Mamatodogs Interesting. Same happened to my D17. Everywhere. My D20 is also adopted, but this time I did not file FAFSA/CSS at any school since we are not eligible for FA. No inquiries at all this time around…with acceptances to 8 schools already.
I am hoping this means a decision had been made to accept her. They also asked for our W-2’s at the same time. Her passport or CoC are personal documents, but W-2’s are really personal documents and you’d think they wouldn’t ask for them if they weren’t serious about her. I hope. She liked Case; I think it’s a great fit for her.
She’s gotten one acceptance so far, but none of her other schools have announced yet. Case is next to announce.
This is OT, but I’m wondering about her from diversity standpoint. She’s Asian; we’re of European ancestry. How to schools “count” kids like ours. Seems to me that diversity is about more than just skin color.
@Mamatodogs This is just my opinion, but I think they treat them like anyone else in their chosen ethnic background. To be Asian from a white family will likely not help in admissions at a school like Case that is already fairly ethnically diverse. And, diversity IS about more than skin color…it’s about socioeconomic status, geography, gender, etc. If she talked about her background in an essay (which is done maybe too frequently), that is where it might make a difference, but being internationally adopted did not seem to make an impact on admissions for my D17. Actually, being Asian may have even hurt her in certain situations. All that said, I think it will be a non-factor at Case, so be confident and good luck!
